I have used the rv park reviews for almost 5 years. I am totally baffled by the upgrade to the new site. First, I really liked the feature of the old site that showed places in nearby towns. I cannot seem to find it here. Secondly I have tried to upload a review twice and have gotten a 503 error message. I have posted in excess of 60 reviews in the past few years and have always found the site to be of value. Now I am not so sure. What is going on?
The old site was woefully limited by its software and hardware and an upgrade was essential. The new site software has many new features and I'm sure you'll get used to it as you use it. As for finding parks near a specific town, just go to the main search screen by clicking on "Go" next to the search bar at the top of any page. From there just select the town you wish to search around and select the search radius. As for the error message, please let us know as best you can the date and time of day that this message was received (including the time zone you are in). That is a "server unavailable" type of message and we will have to check the logs for the time(s) it happened. Thanks for reporting the problem.
Adding to what docj said, here's how you can also find nearby cities, parks, and attractions. Start with the US map and choose the state you want. Next choose a city in that state using the drop-down menu on the left. The system will display the parks located in that city. Scroll down a little bit and on the left side of the page you will see a list of cities nearby the one you have chosen. Now click on one of the parks in that city and the system will display the listing for that park. Again scroll down and there will be a list of nearby campgrounds and other places on the right side of the page. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for.
okay, I just tried to repost and this time it worked. I also found the range. While it will take some getting used to, I hope to appreciate the new site with practice. Thank you for your help
Thanks for sticking with it - we continue to make changes in response to comments and hope that in the long run you will find the site function improved.
I find no map (National or State) when I am on the new website. I have a Mac Book Pro Laptop. Is there a problem with the compatablity with Apple and your website?
We have quite a few users with Macs, iPads and iPhones. The smaller devices automatically use the "mobile" version of the website and do not see the maps but I wouldn't have expected your Mac Book to have that issue unless you have it configured in a portrait rather than landscape view. What browser are you using and what version is it? Joel (AKA docj)
