Myself, and another couple would like to be down for the Cruisin' On the Coast in October. We both have travel trailers with multiple slides. What would be some recommendations for camp sites in MS, AL or FL where one could be comfortable and also enjoy the beach for a day or two? It would be our first trip to the area while camping. Thanks in advance.......

There are a number of nice campgrounds in the area. If you are going to Cruisin' The Coast activities, you want to be in Mississippi because I think AL & FL would be too far away. I am a Coast To Coast member and I stay at TLC Wolf River Resort in Pass Christian, MS. This is a very nice park and the people are very accommodating. Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS also has a very nice RV park. Buccaneer State Park in MS may also be a good choice. It was very nice before Hurricane Katrina and I believe they just re-opened most of it within the last 2 years. Just so you know, Thursday through Saturday of CTC week gets VERY crowded with cruisers and spectators along HWY. 90 in the Gulfport, MS to Ocean Springs, MS area. A trip that should only take 15-20 minutes may take 2-3 hours. That's why I stay towards Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian. The event is a lot of fun and I go just about every year.

We've stayed at Gulf Haven Campground in Gulfport. No-frills, but it is very near the beach and has easy access.
