Once again I tried to report a problem by using the "Report Concern" box following a review and got a message "Review Not Found". The review is the first review for the Oquirrh Inn Motel and RV Park in Tooele, UT. ALL the boxes for the various facilities and amenities like hook ups, TV, pool, etc. have a "?" rather than an "checkmark" or "X" indicating Yes or No. This would seem to indicate that the reviewer did not answer ANY of these questions concerning the RV park.

I have been trying to add those items to a review that I submitted and they will not go through. Clicking the save button at the bottom seems to just reload the page. I was about to bring this up in the "New Site Problems" thread.

I've tried numerous times to post reviews and when I press the submit button it goes nowhere. I've also tried to post concerns on other reviewers comments and they do not get submitted. What is wrong with rvparkreviews site?

Checking the amenities boxes is not a requirement for posting a review. Since this is a new park listing there has been no opportunity for anyone else to check them. Over time they will get populated.

If you have experienced reviews that are not posting please let us know the device your are using (pc, tablet, Android phone, etc), the operating system including version number, and the browser including version number. We have a known bug which has occasionally prevented people from posting, but it has been elusive to track down.

As for reporting a concern about a review, the "report" goes to an admin; you won't see any on-screen notification that a report has been submitted.

Amenity updates do not automatically get posted until they are reviewed by an admin. With the old RVPR website users were constantly changing the amenities for parks, often incorrectly, so we've inserted an administrator review in the process.

If you report a concern about a review the same thing happens, the "report" goes to an admin; you won't see any on-screen notification that a report has been submitted.

Once again I have read an initial review on a park (Shelby RV in Shelby, MT) that has not marked off any of the basic (with the exception of checking off pull-through) facilities and amenities. I have been told that doing this is not required. What good is a review listing that does not have the basics (electric, water, sewer, bathrooms, showers, etc.) checked off? I get a review rejected because I reference my previous review covering all the facilities and amenities from 6 months earlier, but this review is OK when it doesn't check off the basics???????

The review in question provides enough information in its text that readers can learn that the park has sites with electric and water, that the roads and sites are gravel, that there is wifi and that the sites are a reasonable distance apart. I agree that this information could be used to check some of the amenities boxes but it has been our policy not to fill those in unless a reviewer does so. It's not clear that with only a single review of this park that checking these boxes would be any significant benefit to readers. As for "making" reviewers check the boxes, we do not think that would be a productive effort.

It is anticipated that in the not too distant future park owners will be able to claim their listings so that they can ensure that the amenities list is correct and current.

To explain a little more, there are 3 reasons why the items may not be checked. 1.) The park was added on the system a long time ago before we were requiring more accurate information be provided. If there were no checks on the old site, there was nothing to transfer to the new site. We hope that these will eventually get filled in as new reviews are submitted. And obviously this reason does not apply in this case. 2.) The member who sent in the review did not take the time to check off the amenities. 3.) We have experienced a glitch from time to time which resulted in the amenities update not getting linked to the review. I know the programmers were working on this, but possibly it has happened again. We will look into it, but I'm guessing the reviewer just did not check off anything.

I just noticed this on a new campground review in Bristol, CT. Bear Creek Campground.

    Might be that glitch

I could not disagree more with the statement doubting that "checking these boxes would be any significant benefit to readers". The first thing I look at in a review of any park (especially one with which I am not familiar) is the listings of amenities and facilities. That perusal may determine whether or not I will even bother checking the review further since lack of things like sewer, laundry, or bathrooms may automatically eliminate that park as a place I may want to stay.will

If I have questions about a campground I just call them to find out the answers. Also, I'm not as picky as some seem to be and don't expect resort quality services at RV Park prices. The only time I get more picky is if I am going to be there long term but I can deal with almost anything for a night or two.

The main things for us when searching for a park/campground are the main amenities such as power, water, sewer, and how level/un-level the sites are. Rarely do we use the park's showers so they aren't all that important to us. When we are just looking for an overnight place to stay we are far less picky about the clubhouse, general store and activities for the guests, etc. Destination stays on the other hand are where we dig deeper into what the park has going for it overall. RVPR has provided us with a wealth of info from all those who have reviewed parks we look to stay in and this has worked out great for us to date. We are all different in our priorities and what works for some, doesn't for others. With that said, hopefully when there are problems such as the one being discussed on this thread, those who are on top of things on the forum will manage to correct those issues that are of concern. Summer is fast approaching and it's time to be on the road and checking out a few more parks and places along the way to wherever our travels take us.............. :D

Re: 5/15 Initial review of Grand Falls Casino listed under Larchwood, IO. The review makes a few comments (pull-through, level, gravel) about the sites and cell/satellite reception. It appears that the only information box checked was for pull-through. This review gives the reader NO basic information concerning hookups (WSE) or anything else. A park listing not even showing if there are hookups is worthless. I should not have to check the park website or call them to find out this information.

Since launching the new site last November, we have realized some things needed tweaking. We went through a time when the checked off amenities list was not being attached to the park listing when it was entered into the system. We resolved the problem, but we are aware that during this time some new listings slipped by us. We also had thought reviewers would do a better job of checking off the amenities list for a new park, but this has not always been the case, so we are working on a fix for that, too. We fully realize that a listing that is posted with nothing checked off is of no help to our users, so we are taking steps to insure that in the future parks are entered with a reasonable amount of information.

Thanks, TX. At least your response is better than being told that making a reviewer check off that information would not be productive.
