Hi all. We've been MH owners for a few years. I'm retired but hubby has a couple years to go. We go out at least once a month mostly to places within a couple hours of home and a few times a year a little further. We love it. We're always looking for new places to camp and other RV'ers in our area. We have a 32-ft Dolphin.

We're in the same boat Marilyn. Hubby wants to retire soon, but for now we are planing on doing somewhat local trips. We're headed out in the morning on a three hour drive to a park in a neighboring state for the weekend. We also plan to visit my son probably every six months. He's 800+ miles away. He now wants to get an RV as well, so that would be awesome! Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to reading about your adventures.

Enjoy your trip. We're headed out soon too, to one of CA's No. 1 rated RV parks, Jackson Rancheria. We love it there. They keep the grounds so beautiful and there's a bus that comes through every 20 minutes to take you to the casino.

Welcome to the forum jmzumer - If you are ever interested we can for sure tell you about a few really nice parks to stay at from the San Diego area all the way to up to above Portland Oregon. I imagine you have probably stayed at few of them by now. You mentioned that you like the JR RV park so if you are ever headed north on I-5, check out Rolling Hills Casino/RV park in Corning, CA and 7 Feathers Casino/RV park in Canyonville, OR. Both are great with 7 Feathers being one of the nicest we've ever stayed at. The breakfast buffet at RH is really good too. Enjoy your travels and by all means post your reviews as you stay at the various parks and campgrounds...............

Safe and enjoyable travels, BankShot...........(aka Terry)

Hi Terry. We've been to Rolling Hills though not in the RV. Hubby had an aunt who lived in Crescent City and we went there for lunch. Also been by the 7 Feathers many times but have never stopped. Will keep the review thing in mind and post when I remember! Have you ever been up in the Truckee, CA area RVing? We're thinking of going this summer (to escape the valley heat) and could use some suggestions. Looked at a place named Coachland RV in Truckee. Ever been there?

Next time you are going thru the area you should check out 7 Feathers. Super nice RV park with all the amenities and shuttle service to and from the casino across the interstate. As for the Truckee area we did check out Coachland RV and didn't stay there after driving thru. We ended up going up to stay at Clio's Rivers Edge RV Park a few miles south of Graeagle right off Hwy 89. Really nice park with all the amenities and neat folks who run it, etc. I recommend them to anyone looking to spend the time in a really nice setting. You might want to check out the Gold Ranch RV park and casino in Verdi or the KOA at Boomtown. Several others in and around the general area but we've never stayed at them so can't give you anything to go on about them. Hope this helps. If by chance you do end up trying Clio's, let me know what you think of it.

    Safe travels, BankShot.............(aka Terry)

I just made reservations for Gold Ranch in Verdi, NV for a week in June. I've heard good things about it. It gets so hot here in the valley during summer so we escape to cooler climes when we can. The elevation is about 5000 feet so it should cool off nicely at night. The person I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. Anyone else stayed there?
