We have been on the road in our motor home for four months and have been warmly greeted by so many rv parks in Canada and Alaska. When we arrived at Oxbow RV park instead of a warm welcome, we were greeted with a lecture because we had the audacity to arrive at 12:05 and check in was at 1:00 which they didn't tell us when we made the reservation. We almost left and went elsewhere, but decided to go ahead and stay. The park is fine, site was a little tight and very difficult to get out of. There are a lot of trees which make it quite pretty, but a little messy. We couldn't get our cable to work so we went to the office and were informed that we had to get a box from them - you'd think they might have told us that at check in. I think the people who own this park may be in the wrong business! We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park in a great location. The owner does a good job of guiding you into your spot, which is handy as the roads are a little tight. Our site had a nice concrete patio. The park and facilities are very clean. Pets are only allowed in the off season, so we were OK with our small dogs. The dog area is small and not fenced. There are lots of beautiful areas outside the park for walking. The city park and beach across the road is beautiful. Good basic cable is provided by getting a cable box from the owners. The WIFI was free, although I believe there is a fee in the summer. Luckily the WIFI was free, as it is virtually useless. The login process is cumbersome, and you will spend most of your time trying to connect. The WIFI would work poorly for a short period and then cut you off. More often than not, a connection could not be made. The rate is in Canadian funds and was the highest we paid during our ten day holiday. We would probably not stay here again. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a relatively small park. It is immaculate. The owners run a tight ship and it shows. There is grass between sites and a duck pond at the back. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a bike trail close by that goes from this site right into downtown Penticton. There is public park and beaches just across from the campground. I have read other comments about the owners being hard to deal with and all I will say is that I have never had trouble with them. They like to run their park in a orderly way. Respect the basic rules and this is a very lovely and handy place to stay.

Check in was pleasant, lady cordial and helpful with local info. Man directed me to site and helped me when backing in. Had to park tow vehicle in front parallel to road so not to block traffic. I have a mini for a tow so small but did observe some larger vehicles somewhat blocking roadway. Roadway is narrow and traffic is allowed both ways so could be a problem if 2 RVs met at the same time along with parked vehicles in front of sites. We had to use a cable box provided to get TV. Did not use their wifi. I would stay here again on my next visit thru BC when in this area. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

It is a shame that such a beautiful place can be owned by such an arrogant jerk. On the third day of our stay we accidentally popped the breaker. When we went to the office to inform them and request reset we were treated like criminals. The owners treated us so badly we suggested that perhaps we would best to leave. They just grew angrier and told us we had paid for a week and would not get a refund. We stayed our week while avoiding them and left vowing to never return. In all our years of travel we have never been so badly treated.

The site itself is well laid out with new good quality utilities. The site are nicely shaded and nicely kept. There is a great beach within close proximity. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park is clean and close to the beach and amenities but the owner is over controlling and rude making it feel like you are looking over your shoulder all the time . We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Site was small with no privacy and the biggest problem was the location of our site. Many of the sites back directly onto a busy road; therefore there is constant traffic noise. The fence that separates your RV and the road does nothing to provide a barrier. Our site had a neon sign that advertised the campground directly above us that lit our site up; felt like we are in Vegas. Would not return. It was overpriced ($55), and Penticton was all booked up. Next time would choose Walmart parking lot that we went by; at least the RVs had a quiet peaceful spot away from the noise and traffic - all for $0! On the positive - Clean campground and nice owners. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground appeared to be clean and well kept, but we had a very unfortunate experience with the owner. We had arrived late in the evening and only needed a place to spend the night. The owner appeared to be impatient from the beginning since we had interrupted something he was doing, but he escorted us to our site, where, due to a misunderstanding, we backed the trailer dead center in the tight spot rather than to one side where he wanted it. At this he began to lose his temper and become verbally abusive. This escalated to actual threats with a waved stick when we accidentally ran one of the tow vehicle tires a couple of inches over the edge of the grass as we pulled out to correct it. He started shouting that we were now "damaging property" (the grass), and ranting about how expensive it was to irrigate and maintain. We were so shocked by this irrational outburst that we decided we needed to ask for a refund and leave. He followed us all the way to the office verbally threatening to "rip us out of our friggin' car" if we did not honor the camp speed limit. We were very upset and shaken by this encounter, but since we had not done any permanent damage nor verbally provoked this behavior, we felt that there had to be other issues involved for someone in a service industry to behave like this toward a customer. My husband is very skilled at backing a trailer; we have stayed in many RV parks, but we have never had any experience like this. We hope we never do again! Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this campground. We did not stay at this park. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sites are a little on the small side but host guides every RV into place. A really nice touch. Host is very knowledgeable with every type of rig. If you got a question, he has an answer. Really nice fellow. We would always stay at Oxbow when in Penticton. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground was clean and well kept, although the sites were a little on the small side. It's a very nice campground compared to the others I've seen in Penticton- none of them seem to be very big here. It's right across the road from the lake, which is nice. They allow pets, but only small lap dogs, so check with them before you show up with Fido. I would stay here again in Penticton. Although the sites aren't very big, it's probably the nicest campground I've seen in Penticton. We camped at Oxbow RV Resort in a Motorhome.
