We are planning a trip to Detroit, MI this fall, to visit family members and I'm curious if anyone has ever camped in or around Detroit MI? I'm suprised that it doesn't have a campground, after all, many metropolitan cities have campgrounds, but I can't seem to find one in Detroit in the Camground review section of this website. We plan on going to the Henry Ford Museam and Green Field Village while we are there. We prefer to camp close to the Dearborn, Redford, or Garden City suburbs. Any ideas?

We spent about 2 weeks in Detroit two years ago and stayed at the KOA in Ypsilanti. I was okay...not great, but the best we could find. It was about 30 minutes from the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit proper, and about 15 minutes from the Ford Museum. Check the reviews on this site. They are mixed, but better than some in the area.
