Well, I guess my problem has come to an end. I had decided to dispute the credit card charge, but when I contacted them, I was told that in order to file a dispute the following must be true:
1. The purchase must have been made in my home state or within 100 miles of my mailing address. 2. The total amount of purchase must have been under $50. 3. The purchase must not have been paid in full. 4. The date of purchase must have been within the last 60 days. 5. I must have tried to correct the problem with the merchant. My situation only met the 4th and 5th criteria, so I guess I am out of luck. I'm just glad the amount I paid was very small. I would not be so happy if I had paid $49. Anyway thanks again to all of you who commented and gave advice. I appreciate you help. |

What a pain! I'm not a tech geek, but I keep up with email and do a blog each year when we go to Grand Teton & Yellowstone parks for a month. Since, believe it or not, we only use a cell phone when travelling, I have a Verizon aircard that I also only use on the road. What I like is that there's no service plan required: I buy 1G, which is more than adequate for uploading photo albums, blog, email for $50 and it's good for a month. It IS slooww, but Verizon is the ONLY carrier accessible in Yellowstone, and even then, only at a few locations. But the beauty is, I can sit in the motorhome with a moose (sometimes an elk) literally 5 feet out the front window and be posting my blog. So slow is OK. Travelling coast to coast we've found Verizon coverage the best.
You might want to consider this route...buy the aircard and a gig at a time as you use it. Good luck! www.travelswithhappy.blogspot.com Well, I guess my problem has come to an end. As I said at the first of this thread, I know there are many options open to me, but at this point I was just really trying to find out if anyone else had had trouble with the WIFIRV company. Thanks for the input, though. |
