Luckily we're parked part-way up a mountain and our little creek is handling the rain, but we drove by a couple of river-side parks yesterday on a ride and saw areas with nothing to be seen but the tops of utility posts sticking out of the water. What a mess! It seems like it's been raining forever here in NC and the forecast calls for three more days of rain at least. Have you ever been flooded out of a RV park?

Once woke up to water 3/4 of the way up the 22" wheels and had to disconnect and move in a hurry. Once was stranded in an rv park with no shore power, and no water (no power to pump from well) for a week when a flood washed out the road and bridge in/out of the campground. Several times through the years we have changed plans to avoid potential flooding. It is all part of the adventure.

We had problems a couple of times last year when several parks along the Missouri and Mississippi rivers were flooded out. Fortunately for us, they had flooded before we got there!

We hightailed it out of Vicksburg a few years ago when we saw the president of the casino filling sandbags in the parking lot. Figured it was time for us to move right along while the movin' was good.

Never been flooded out after arriving, but we've been to a park (Fort Cobb State Park in Oklahoma) which had waterside sites that were already flooded when we got there because the reservoir level had risen due to previous heavy rains. The tops of a couple of the concrete picnic tables were just barely under water, and when the kids stood up on top of them, it looked like they were "walking on water".

Only place I've been to where the fish would swim right up to the table like they were serving themselves. biggrin.gif
