Full Version: Help! Where To Stay Near Disneyland?

I have heard that staying in Anaheim is not that desirable. I was looking at Huntington By The Sea in Huntington Beach, but TrailerLife only gives it a 5 for visual appearance. It makes me wonder if we will like it here. Any opinions on what to do?

Hasn't anyone stayed near Disneyland? All advice, good and bad, is welcome! Thanks!
Where are you coming from. I have been to Anaheim many times and have never had any problems. Normally stayed at a local hotel, not wanting to try and pull a 35'er in the traffic. There is one park that seems to get pretty good reviews, Anaheim Resort RV. Sounds like you will have everything you need for a visit to Disneyland and other area attractions. You have to remember you will be in Southern California in the city. If you are not from the area be carefull on planning your arrival and departure times due to the freeway traffic, it can be, lets just say challenging. Huntington Beach has never gotten any real good reviews so I have never wanted to stay there, plus driving back and forth can again be challenging, so you really want to stay as close as possible.

We will be coming from San Diego. I have Anaheim RV Resort booked already, I just started getting nervous when friends starting telling me that Anaheim is "seedy". If the reviews are right, then it seems like a nice place to stay. As for traffic, we plan on travelling at "off" times to try to avoid it. We live in NYC so traffic is something that we are used to! Thanks so much for the advice!
I live in Anaheim and word at disenyland, the rv park on harbor bl is nice and you can walk to dineyland and be safe. I have not stayed in any rv parks in town.
I can vouch for Anaheim Harbor RV park being decent. I was kinda surprised that it was basically a parking lot with hookups, but I'm new at this. I was happy with our stay there last summer. It is possible to walk to D-land, but getting the tickets for the Anaheim Resort Transit system is better.
The downside of the whole parking lot thing was offset by the location. Just don't plan on going to sleep early, the D-land fireworks are louder at the RV park than in Disneyland. Kinda cool to get the free show right overhead every night though.
