We stayed a little distance from the falls. Rock Point Provicial Park. This was on Lake erie and was very clean and relaxing place to stay. It was a drive to the falls but a nice drive. We also checked out Toranto for a day from this site.

We stayed at jellystone last summer. park is ok but they have good service to the falls center. you can buy a pass for all day on the people mover that will take you to the whole falls.
I wuod definigtely stay on the canadian side again. dont take your car down to the falls use the park shuttle and people mover to get around.
two side trips that may be of interest to you. one day we took outr car and went over to the welland canal. It was very interesting to see the big ships moving through. road is along side the canal the whole way fromlake ontario to lake erie. when we were there you could get close to the canal and the ships.
also interesting to see the fort at the lake erie end of niagra river. looking over at buffalo.
allow several days to see it all . we stayed for four days and wished for longer.
Get a pass that will let you into several of the falls attractions at a reduced rate. like maid of the mist and the tunnel under the falls and some other things there.
check out the rules for crossing the border before you go as far as guns, mace, food and cigarettes and booze. canadians are very fussy about these..
dwhen we went we took birth certificate picture id for both of us and auto and trailer titles and registration. funny thing , gooing and comming neither customs checked anything except our drivers license and as a couple of questions about what was in the trailer. took about 5 minutes on both sidesdthe other thing that we did was use our credit cards as much as possible, the exchange rate is the best you can get. also dollars were accepted everywhere that we tried to use them.
