Technically, I guess my first trip is this weekend with the cub scouts out in the rain.
First family trip with camper will be spring break (first week in April). Heading to Davidson River CG in Brevard NC.

I've already gone. In middle February, I set out for Fort Worden State Park without reservations. It was Presidents Day weekends, but it's still flipping cold so I didn't think I needed reservations. WRONG! Popular park! So, I tried to go to Fort Flagler, only to find that the State of Washington was redoing the sewer system and there were construction trucks all over the place. So, I stayed at a "no name" small park and noted it hadn't been reviewed on here, so I sent one in! Turned out to be just what I needed.
A week ago, I finally went to Fort Worden State Park, this time, I made a reservation on line (and paid the reservation fee) only to find the park HALF FULL. Sheesh, I paid the darn reservation fee for nothing! But it was still fun!
Got some more trips planned, too! To include going to Kentucky this summer!

As we are still having cool/cold snowy weather here, in upstate New York at this time, we will not be starting our outings until the first weekend in May. Also our motor home is in winter storage until around the 15th of April.
We are looking forward to the "season" after a hard winter in the "northeast". Our first trip out will be an outing with our Holiday Rambler local Rv chapter at Turning Stone Casino in Verona NY. Not a gambler but we enjoy their restaurants and the on site shops. As we normally have a good turn out of up to fifteen units, a good time to visit with those who have just returned from their winter locations.

I guess you could say we are on our first trip. We stay in the Dallas area over Nov, Dec & Jan each year to visit with our family. Our first stop was a rally in Kerrville TX. We then made a trip to Mission TX for a while to check out the RGV and are now in Rockport TX. We will be moving to a rally north of Houston in April then our real trip begins.
We are going to go up to around the west part of the Great Lakes, maybe Canada, N & S Dakota, Montana and then drift south to Dallas again. So I guess our real trip this year will start in April as it starts to get warmer up north. Glad we are not up in the North East. To cold and to much snow.
I am going to really use this website to find places that we can stay.
Also if any of you are from around Chicago area let me know of some places in that area that we can stay.

Since we still have snow here in northern MN, we won't start our camping season till mid or end of May. We hope to pull our Fleetwood popup out of storage mid April. We hope to camp the end of May around the area. We also have a trip planned the 3rd week of June to the Black Hills in SD. We have reservations at Rafter J campground. Our kids (10,7,4) are even looking forward to camping season as we are all tired of this snow. We are also planning next years camping trip to the outer banks of NC. Any ideas or good campgrounds to stay at would be helpful.

TXBobcat,
The Chicagoland area (within 50 miles of downtown) is more than a little lacking in nice, full service RV parks. As with recommending any RV park, it all depends on what kind of facilities you want and what you need the park for (just overnight, a base park, etc.). Of the 4 parks I have stayed in within 50 miles of the city, I wouldn't feel right recommending any of them. I must admit that it has been more than a few years since I have been to some of them. The one park that seems to get decent reviews here is Sycamore RV Park in Sycamore, IL ( about 40 miles wesy of the city). As long as you don't want/need cable TV, the reviews here indicate it is a good place for overnight or as a base park.

Sounds like everyone is just as eager as we are to get out and enjoy the nice weather once it gets here!! We had 78 degree temps yesterday, only to wake up this morning to 42 degrees!!! Man do I have cabin fever!!! What makes it even worse is I just got our camper back from the shop where it has been for the past 4 1/2 months!! Now I have the itch twice as bad!! LOL

Thanks Jerry
I will keep that site in mind. We travel fulltime so when we get to a place we like we will stay at least a week. That way we get to run around and see the sights and get a cheaper rate.
The one thing we have to watch out for is the holiday weekends. We can get left out for a place to stay.

KentuckyCamping, waking UP to 42 degrees? Heck, we are lucky if that's our HIGH where I live! We are having an unusually cold March. We had snow fall and freezing temperatures. I have had to run back and forth turning heaters on and off in my RV. High is 42, so don't need the heaters on. But low is 27, so need the heaters on. I don't winterize my RV, because I want to USE the thing.

Dang, I dont miss that cold weather!! We had enough of that when we had our worst ice storm in the history of KY in January!! 700K people w/o power throughout the state!! WE were without power for 9 days, and was it cold!! Our yard looked like a disaster area, and some of our trees look like giant toothpicks out in the yard!!
Come on warm weather!!!!

I think the moderators are probably enjoying some nice weather somewhere, but that would not be in Texas right now. Winter returned yesterday, and the forecast says it will have a hold until around Sunday. We were in the 80's on Tues and the 40's on Wed. Course the front did bring some rain which is really needed so I'm not complaining. I'll bet Mother Nature is really laughing at all those spring breakers shivering on the beach right about now .

Well you guys just messed it up. The moderators must have pulled the plug. We got up this morning and it was raining. Temp was 48* and only got up to about 53*. High tomorrow about 73* and more rain.
See if I will give you a good weather report again.. Hope it snows for another month...
So there......

We are planning a trip to Alaska via the inside passage. We will put the rig on the Alaska Marine Highway System Ferry in Bellingham, Washington and take a month to work our way up to Haines, Alaska where we will pick-up the Alaska Highway. We plan on exploring the interior of Alaska and then British Columbia. Very excited.
