Anyone been to "Vacation Trailer Park", Benzonia, Michigan on the Betsie River?

Claims it is 6 mi from Lake MI, 25 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes, and boasts sites right on the river, fishing, swim pool for the kids, and 2 miles from Crystal Lake. Sites have H20 and elec. Sounds great, and inexpensive, almost too good to be true , anyone been there?

Been there. It been a year or 2. Think there was a river we couldn't see it from "shanty town" where we were put. There were alot of campers that hadn't moved for a long long time. Sites were cramped. Luckily the camper people were reasonably sociable, since we were on top of them. We had reserved a site,since it was the fourth of July week-end and were charged extra to insure that we would show up. This was not reimburced when we did show up, said that was just their policy. The people in the office weren't much help. Just left a nasty blemish in our memory. Question them good when you call, see where you will be sited, ask about seasonals, and ask about size of sites.

Thanks for the info! Doesn't sound too promising. Sounds like a lot of seasonals.

Do you have any other info on RV parks w/either lake/river and pool that you are willing to share? My husband likes fishing; kids like pool swimming vs. lake. Would also like to be reasonably close (20 mins or so) from a Great Lake, either side. Thanks in advance! Gloria

THE NIGHT BEFORE WE STAYED AT VACATION TRAILER PARK, WE WERE AT LAKE LEELANAU RV PARK IN LAKE LEELANAU . IT WAS A LITTLE PRICEY, BUT WE WERE 1 SITE FROM BEING ON THE LAKE (LAKE LEELANAU, NOT LAKE MICHIGAN). THEY HAVE A SMALL BEACH, A MARINA, FRESHWATER FISHING,THERE ARE 196 SITES AND EVEN THOUGH I WAS THE FOURTH OF JULY WEEK AND THEY WERE EXTREAMLY BUSY, THEY TREATED US LIKE WE WERE THE ONLY ONES THERE. THERE IS ALSO A PLAYGROUND.
ALSO THERE IS SLEEPING BEAR DUNES STATE PARK, WE DIDN'T STAY THERE BUT FRIENDS OF OURS WORKKAMPED THERE AND SAID IT WAS NICE.
