As a kid we used to go to Bishop, Bridgeport, Lake Almanor and camp. I haven't been there in 30 years (ok I'm old). Has anyone been up to the area recently and got any suggestions on places to go that are "nice". I don't want run down campgrounds or poorly maintained areas because my this will be a first impression of camping for my wife and it has to be acceptable or she will kabosh the whole idea going forward. I don't own an rv so I'd like to rent a 35+' motorhome preferably to pick up north of Fresno.

As far as RV Parks go, I suggest yu visit the variuos RV park Review sites on the Web. This sites reviews are normally fair, but read the reviews and visit the Parks web site to see how they compare.
RV rental, there are two that I know of in the Fresno area, "A" Class RV Rental in Fresno and CruiseAmerica in Clovis.
