You might want to try Camp Holiday at Boulder Junctio our group tries to get there at least once a year. Its a quiet place with several permanent sites but many available for the traveler. Super clean showers. Anothr place is River Pines at Ontanogan, Michigan, very clean, request a site in the pines as they have some in an open area that could be a bit warm. A must to visit here is the Lakre of the Clouds in the Porcupine, Mts. about 15 miles west. Fantastic scenery. There is also a small restaurent at Silver City that has bears that come for treats, a fence seperates you from them. Also the Upper Mich, State Parks are great. They have elec but no water hook-ups. Water is available to fill your tank.
Could not agree more with the recommendation to go to Camp Holiday. Ray and Cathy are terrific people who run a very well maintained campground in a beautiful area of the state. Lake in the Clouds is great as well as the hiking on the west end of the Porkies too!
