Is anyone familiar with Backwater Jacks RV park near Jefferson ,Texas
We are trying to decide whether to stay there oor Caddo Lake State park
Any comments??

We did stay at Backwater Jacks RV near Jefferson. The owners are really nice. The park is new and therfore pretty primitive. They do have all hookups including 50 amp service, but the pads are some sort of gravel and really not put down very good. The spaces are close toghther. It is very quite and on a river.
It's only a couple miles from Caddo Lake SP
I would probably stay there again. I hope the new owners make it.

We stayed there 2 nights so we could tour Historic Jefferson when Caddo SP was filled (often). Caddo rangers referred us. Nice quiet little park on the interesting, cypress lined bayou with fishing boats often seen swishing past. Nice family trying to make a go of it, replacing site pads, restoring water, power and sewer after four feet of water flooded over the area a couple of years ago. They have a launch ramp, rec room and laundry.
Daughter even finished our clothes, folded and delivered them to our RV.
