I am looking for nice a private campground with River Tent Camping closed to NYC. Can be in NY, CT, NJ, or maybe PA.

don't know how close it has to be, but tall pines campground on the western part of catskills has some very nice tent sites. located in bainbridge, ny

Rip Van Winkle Campground. It's by Kingston or Saugerties, NY.

Kittatinny Canoes. Rt 97 outside of Port Jervis. Barryville, NY.

There are a few Campgrounds near Barryville, but I can't remember their names

Thanks all for the information. I did go to Rip Van Winkle Campground in 2011. Great campground with a little creek and a warm swimming pool. This year, I am going to try tall pines campground
