Has anybody stayed at the Grand Canyon, South Rim, during the first two weeks in October? If so, how cold was it? We don't have a good sense of what the weather is like, mid-fall, in this part of AZ.
I don't need 80 degree days, but I also don't need snow flying around the 5th wheel. We learned a lesson 3 years ago, with 6 inches of snow on each of 3 days in Flagstaff over Memorial Day.

We are trying to decide whether to do a late camping outing at the Grand Canyon or Organ Pipe National Monument, which is way south on the border with Mexico.

We have been to the Grand Canyon South rim twice. The first was in Nov 2004, the second was Nov 2006 and it was cold. We had to run the furnace and the nearest propane that time of year is a 50 mile drive so be sure the propane tanks are full. We did get a dusting of snow once. We were at Organ pipe Feb 2008 and it was cold but no snow. That time of year if it does snow like in Tuscon it is melted pretty quick.
