You guys seem to "vanish" for short periods of time, such as the past 2 days. Come on people, I need those new posts to read every day, so get busy typing!!!
Hello - can you hear me???

Cheryl,
I hear you!

Don't really have much to say this week. I am heading out Friday morning down to Connecticut (Aces High RV Park in East Lyme) for the weekend, so I might have something to say next week.

The weather in Maine has been unusually warm this past week (Temps in the upper 60's). It is supposed to be good thru Saturday. Take care and happy camping.

Sorry, this is just a "quiet" time of the year for me. I still get on and read everyone else's posts. I just don't have a lot to contribute now.

Cheryl,
I see new post are coming in every day so I would guess people are moving around again now that fuel is down a little. I stopped by the local Flying-J this week to gas up one car and I see lots of RV units are on the road again. Number of weeks ago the place was dead and fuel was very high. Weather is very nice here, outside Tampa.

I believe John Blue is correct. We are currently in Charleston, SC, at a 250 space park, and they have four sites left this weekend! A drop in fuel prices brings out serious RV'ers again!

Glad to know you are all still alive and kickin'. Wish we were on the road too. I was looking at the edition of Highways magazine last night - it always makes me want to hit the road. Enjoy yourselves.

I'm home but wish I was camping. I'm going by car to Columbus OH next week
for a reunion of the unit I served with in Vietnam. I'll get back to camping in
December.

We've been in Palm Springs (Outdoor Resort Palm Springs) for a week now and will stay on our lot until the end of March. Looking forward to lots golf and patio parties.... Since we live full time in our rig we like the warm dry PS climate for the winter. Time will pass quickly then back up north to open the RV park and the cycle begins again.
Enjoy!!

I guess that we are home now too, but since we are fulltime..............
We are sitting still at the moment as we spend a lot of our time as "live on" volunteers in various locations. At the moment we are in a wonderful RV site on the Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge, located just north of Monroe, LA. It is a really great place and we are only required to work 24 hours per week, total for our great, full hook-up, 50A, site with concrete patio and level compacted gravel pad.
What a great life!

Cheryl, thought you'd like to know--or maybe someone would--that gas fell .10 overnight here in Carlsbad, Ca., from 2.49 to 2.39.

Bubba, we are down to around 2.19 here in Denver and I did get it for 2.16 with my Safeway card. Don't think we'll ever see below 2.00 again. I remember when I first strted driving and compained about .50 a gallon!!!

Wow, it did make it below $2 somewhere. Don't think it would be worth the trip for me to come to MO to fill up though!

Hello one and all,
I most be getting old as when I was in high school, I worked in a filling station and gasoline was 0.249 a gallon. That was in 1956-57. As they say," the good old days". Gasoline here in New york is dropping, yesterday in our area it was 2.139.
In September, while on vacation in New Hampshire\ Maine, the highest we paid
was 3.599 a gallon for gasoline.
This is my first post here, but we are not new to camping. We started with a three man pup-tent, and have up-graded through the years to a 36' motor home two years ago. We sure do enjoy our time on the road. Best wishes, safe travels.

Butch, welcome. I see you joined some time ago but as you said, this is your first post. I hope it is just the first of many. Like you, we enjoy our time on the road - I can't wait until hubby retires and we can spend a lot more time doing it. My best friend lives in Buffalo, NY and my husband was raised in Saugerites (sp???) but I have never been to your fair state myself.

Thank you for the welcome, I'm retired but my wife is still working, and she can't wait until she retires, but she has a few years to go, unless she hits the lottery.
Buffalo NY yesterday got between 6 to 16 inches of that white stuff, they can have it. We camped at the Saugerties/Woodstock KOA this last summer. We took our granddaughters there, after school was out, to visit the worlds biggest kaleidoscope in Mount Tremper on route 28. It is housed in a shorten farm silo, so you can understand it's size. It's the best !
Thanks again,
Butch

We are in an RV park just south of Cincinnati in Walton, KY. Cold coming our way. We left Canada in August and had no intention of seeing any winter this year but we bought a new motorhome in Indiana and are now waiting for delivery. Hopefully this happens soon, then we will be going to Texas. We don't stay any one place for too long so don't have a real destination, just someplace warmer than Indiana in December. Yesterday we paid 1.889 for gas in Lexington.

Congatulations on your new Motorhome... I'm afraid you may see a little snow tonight or tomorrow! Enjoy your winter travels in Texas, I'm still in the working class, so I'll take care of the cold north for you this winter, except for Feb., which we are heading to Florida for a month.
