My husband and I (with 3 kids) love camping and we love trying new spots as often as we can. We live about 30 miles southwest of Houston and are looking for some new, fun family parks to camp at. Can anyone recommend anything in any direction from here within about 2 - 3 hours or so? We currently camp at Breckenridge Plantation, Lake Texana State Park, Brazos Bend and Georgetown (near Austin). These seem to be our "usuals" but really want to go other places. Any ideas anyone???

Have you considered New Braunsfels, TX? There are several nice campgrounds, plus with Schlitterbahn and then tubing down the Guadalupe River, our family has a great time. There is great outlet shopping at San Marcos, just a few miles up IH 35 at exit 200.

We have a great time and there is something to do for everybody!
