Yes, it is me, again and this time I would like some of your experience about Las Vegas, RV places etc...
I am a Canadian and I was discussing with my wife to have a trip there to visit Las Vegas, the desert and the casinos and in reviewing some comments on this forum I felt somewhat unsure how and where I should choose the place to stay once there.
First of all, I noted that the average cost per night in an RV Park ranges between 30 - 40 and…. dollars and from some evaluations I noted that several of them don't have Internet wireless connection, the size of the lot is uneven, no TV cable and mainly occupied by rundown permanent trailers, furthermore, by following other review of the same campsites, I read that the camp is fabulous, neat, well kept etc..etc...etc.. Who's right and who's getting the cut in sending people there ?
I don't know whether I had a negative feeling but, the price seem too high, the places some what rundown and with very poor facilities.

Galli, Vegas is one of our favorite places to go and we take the trip once a year. We stay at the Oasis and I absolutely love it. I am not sure about wireless internet there as I don't think I got online at all last visit. Our 2 sons, our daughter in law and our grandson were all there at the same time, staying in my in-laws timeshare at the Fairfield Resort. I usually get online to check in with them when we are traveling and since they were with us, no need to do that. The Oasis has great security and really is a lovely park. It is actually just a block off the strip at the north end, but fairly quiet. They run a shuttle from the park to the casinos if you prefer to take that route. I think we paid in the $45 a night range but did get a large site. Of course, they offer a Good Sam discount. Sorry, I wasn't much help, but I am sure you will have a wonderful time in Vegas. You should definitely make it a point to get down to Fremont Street at night and watch the light show.

We, too, love Vegas and go about once a year. We go in the winter because it is just too d*** hot in the summer. We were there in May one year, and it was 106 degrees. To which most people reply, "but it is a dry heat." Let me assure you 106 is HOT--dry or not. We have always stayed at Sam's Town on the Boulder Highway, and it has met our needs just fine. We have checked out several other parks, but have always chosen Sam's. Arizona Charlie's looked pretty nice, and Cheryl is right about the Oasis. It is beautiful. If you want to stay right in the middle of the action the KOA at Circus Circus is right on the strip. I don't think we would like staying there, but it has always been pretty full each time we have passed by it. A big reason we stay at Sam's Town is because it is right beside their big casino which has movie theaters and a wonderful buffet. The sites are gravel and level and some have shade, but they are close together--especially the back ins. So try to get a pull through. They are a bit roomier but are side-by-side so you are still close to your neighbor on the utility side. They have a nice pool and spa and the bathrooms have always been very clean. I think they had wifi the last time we were there. Five years ago they only charged $16 a night, but I think they are up to $26-28 now. They also have a free shuttle service to the strip, but we usually drive the toad and just park at one of the big hotels because their garages are free. Even the valet service is free (except for the tip we give) so you can't beat that. There are many things to do in and around Vegas in addition to the gambling and shows, so you should have a good time. Cheryl mentioned Fremont Street--which is great-- and there is also the Hoover Dam. I don't know if they give tours since 9/11, but you can still visit it. And by the way if you cross the dam in your RV they do stop you and look inside and have you open all the bins, but it has never been a problem for us. (They are building a bypass but I don't think it is finished yet.) Hope this was helpful and have a great trip.

Texasrvers, when we are staying in a hotel, we always stay at Sam's Town and when in the rv, we go to the Fireside Buffet at Sam's Town. it is a lovely hotel. Last time we stayed there, our room overlooked the animated wildlife show in the center of the hotel. It was fun to watch until about 11:00 when we were trying to go asleep and the show was going on. What part of Texas are you from. I am from Dallas. Got to go back last month to meet my best friend, who now lives up around Crawford. We hooked up in the Big D for a day of shopping...

Cheryl, I know what you mean about the animated show at 11pm. I would not want to hear that bear roar if I was trying to sleep. Fortunately he is not loud enough for us to hear all the way out in the RV park. We also liked the Oasis. It is so beautiful, and we really thought about staying there. But at that time Sam's Town was $16 and the Oasis was over twice that price, so we decided we could stay longer if we stayed cheaper. Now that Sam's Town has gone up so much we just might try the Oasis the next time we're there.

I grew up in central Texas, but now live near San Antonio. We've been going to Vegas ever since we retired about 6 years ago. We do our share of gambling and usually see a show or two. Seems like there is always something new to see so I imagine we'll keep on going--for a few more years anyway.

We were there in 06/06 and stayed at the Oasis. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Pricey, but not any higher than the KOA at Circus Circus. They have free dial-up or high speed by subscription. (Do not remembe how much it was.) They trolly to the strip picks you up at the office and it is only $5 to ride it till 2:00 am. After we blew our gambling allowance we rode it up and down the strip "siteseeing". The oasis is very clean and I felt safe staying there. (Very important with 2 teens traveling with us. They have a spa, and two or three pools, ( one of them is just for adults.) Can't wait to go again!

We stayed at the Oasis Rv Resort and found it to be very nice. I must warn you though close the awnings before you go inside for the night, the wind will rip it right off your RV. There were several people picking up their awnings the next morning even after the regulars warned them. The resort is very nice and the pool was fantastic. We have 5 kids and it was a very nice place to stay.Click to view attachment

We always stay at samstown. the spaces are veryclose together but if you are there for just a few days not bad. pool is terrific and there are some trees. very clean. you can walk to casino from rv park. there is also a free bus to the strip.
