Tachick Lake Resort, Vanderhoof, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

It's hard to rate this place. It is NOT Big rig friendly! First, the access to the park is 25K off the main road and about 7 of that is gravel which was fairly graded but, in a big rig uncomfortable traveling. Very friendly host but the site was so sloped, there was not a prayer of getting level. We were there overnight only, so I asked if we could dry camp in one of the sites facing the lake and run our generator. He said fine. So we did. And, it is probably the prettiest site we have been to. For an overnight in a big rig, don't do it. In a 5th wheel or trailer doing a several day stay this is drop dead gorgeous. We are 40ft with a toad. We camped at Tachick Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Cassiar RV Park, Kitwanga, British Columbia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

I do not remember the nightly rate. Nice park and very clean. The office was accommodating and friendly. Great views etc. as has already been mentioned. The problem is access and egress. we have a 40' motor home with a tow car. Pulling into the pull-through site there are poles located right on the access road on both sides. It is a very tight turn in and my tow car barely missed the pole. I thought I was going to have to de-couple which is a pain for a pull-through. Once in, all was well until exiting the next morning. There are trees on the inside of your exit turn dead on the road on every site with a narrow exit road. I had to de-couple the tow car. Luckily there was no one in the site ahead of me as I needed the room to turn. Even with that, the tree scraped the side of the rig on the way out.

I only mention this to warn anyone with larger than 40'. I cannot imagine making the turn.

A great park but not big rig friendly. We camped at Cassiar RV Park in a Motorhome.

K'san Campground, Hazelton, British Columbia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is in response mostly to kmghmg negative review of this park. After reading this and another negative review we almost passed over this gem and I am so glad we didn't. We are early in the year so the office was closed when we pulled in. We found a site with an open shot to the sky and hooked up with Directv. In the process of setting up, we were welcomed by the manager Ross McRae who was bubbling over with enthusiasm about the park and the history of Hazelton. Being local First Nation, he is fully invested in the area. I don't think I have ever felt so welcomed to a park. He is passionate about the history here and wants everyone who visits to have a positive experience. He invited me back to the office where he provided a map of the area along with personal commentary on the history of the area.
The park itself is drop dead gorgeous. It is surrounded by snow capped mountains and at the edge of a beautiful river. The sites are separated by 15' to 25' of grassy area. The access roads are well paved. Do I wish we had 50 amps? Yes. Oh well. The wifi worked well but even if it didn't I had a strong 4g signal I could use.
I will not be influenced by a snitty negative review again. We camped at K'san Campground in a Motorhome.

Dave's RV Park and Campground, Vanderhoof, British Columbia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I see lots of whining about the cost but if you don't need the services you don't pay for them. We are in a 40' big rig with all the amenities. We don't use toilets or showers or laundry. You get what you pay for. I get internet through my phone and It works great here. This is a great camp and it is well kept. Nice spacious sites. Easy access pull throughs and friendly owners. I recommend it. We camped at Dave's RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tete Jaune Lodge Campground, Valemount, British Columbia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Can't remember price but seemed reasonable. The site for our 40' big rig with toad was spacious but on grass. Good for us it was dry. In the rain this would have been muddy and ugly. 30 amp service does not work well with a big rig so that is a negative but the convenience made it well worth it for an overnighter. Very friendly staff and beautiful venue on the Fraiser River. Very clean and well kept. Also was able to get Directv with our roof mount satellite dish. Wifi worked ok but there is very limited cell service in the area. also no on- site sewer. We camped at Tete Jaune Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Blue Lake RV Resort, Naples, Idaho

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice pull thru site. This is right next to an active train track. Please be extra careful at the crossing as there is no guard rail and it is difficult to see the train coming from the north. Sometimes they use the whistle, sometimes not. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Other than that, the site was nice. We camped at Blue Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff. Well kept park. If you are a dog person you will like the "bark park". If you are not a dog person you may want to distance yourself from it. We were unfortunately right next to it. We camped at Hi Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crown Villa RV Resort, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably the nicest site we have ever been in out of the 300 or so places we have visited. I wish I could attach a picture. All of the sites are spacious and well kept. Besides the 23ft x 72ft cobblestone area there is another 25ft of grass between you and your neighbor plus a large grass area behind. Our site is #481 Platinum which has no neighbor on our patio side, just forest. The other nice thing that we particularly like is there are no kids on this street. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against kids. I have some plus grand kids. But, sometimes a peaceful site is nice. The park has silver, gold and platinum sites and are different rates. They all have the 23x72 cobblestone pads. Mostly, the rate difference relates to availability to amenities which we really didn't use.

It is expensive so I understand why some give it lower ratings. I am rating it at the highest value to me as I have a very nice big rig and can afford it. You do indeed get what you pay for here. We camped at Crown Villa RV Resort in a Motorhome.

99 RV Park, Vancouver, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I don't know who has been reviewing this park but I suspect it is friends and relatives.

If you have a nice rig and want to stay inside and not use any amenities and are doing just an overnight, it is as good as Walmart except you have hookups. We were in site 100 which is on the main entrance road. The patio side of our rig was 4 feet from the main entrance road. All gravel. In the 300 or so sites we have been in this is in the lowest 10. On the good side, the check-in lady was nice. Also, it was easy to pull into the site and did not have to disconnect. That's it. no more positives. We camped at 99 RV Park in a Motorhome.

well maintained clean park with grass between pull through sites. Pull throughs are large and level gravel. friendly and helpful staff. They are very picky and rule conscious but that's probably a good thing. Will stay here again. we have a 40' motorhome and toad. We camped at Mount Vernon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be careful coming through Mount Vernon with a big rig. GPS will take you down 1st St. which is a tough turn at the end of a crowded main street. Take 3rd St and there is no problem.

Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground, Zephyr Cove, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Confusion begins when you arrive and seem to be directed to the parking lot on the lake side of the road. Don't go there if you have a big rig! The campground is on the other side of the road and you need to park and go to the gift shop on the other side of the road to register.

The people were friendly but don't have a clue about RVing. They gave us a map and told us how to get to the site. Fortunately, the camp host caught us and helped. The route described could not have been navigated in a big rig. Tons of trees and sharp turns. There did not appear to be a level site that we could use. When settled in the best we could find, our front tires were about 4" off the ground. Obviously we could not hook up our roof top satellite dish. Great for 5th wheels or trailers or C class but not big rigs. We have a 40' RV with tow. Guessing at rate. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Issaquah Village RV Park, Issaquah, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The staff is friendly but the park is old and sites are small. We were in site 37, which is probably one of the best. Most were smaller than advertised. The overwhelming thing about this park is the noise. It is a few hundred yards from I-90. The freeways in this area are in terrible condition probably due to the winter wear and tear. As a result, even in a car the tire noise drowns out the GPS. Imagine how much worse it is outside the vehicle. Then multiply that by a hundred cars/minute. The ambient noise in the park is the worst I have ever experienced in over 300 RV parks. The only saving grace is that it is steady and inside our rig we drowned out the noise with AC. We are in a 40' RV with a tow car. BTW, I don't remember the nightly rate so I guessed. We camped at Issaquah Village RV Park in a Motorhome.
