La Junta KOA, La Junta, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Older KOA park located off Route 50. Signage hard to see as it's set back from road. We used GPS, and had to slow down in order not to miss entrance. Check in was easy, friendly staff however just explained how to get to site, didn't review amenities or bathroom location. That's a first with any park we have stayed at. Our site was gravel/dirt, close to level, full utilities. There was a concrete patio with fire pit but it was located at back of rig. We stayed in the back, no mature trees at our site so we were able to get satellite. Don't think they had cable but they did have WiFi. We use our own hot spot instead. The dog park was gravel/sand, very little grass in entire park to walk dogs. Bathrooms were clean, however grounds need to be better maintained. They do have a small pool and inflatables for the kids. Thought it was way overpriced for the condition of the park. OK for an overnight stay. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.

Air Capital RV Park, Wichita, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Park located off I-35, south side of Wichita. Entrance off main road with traffic light, and was easy in and out. Roads inside park wide, easy to maneuver. Staging area right out front office. Check in was quick, staff very friendly & helpful. We were escorted to our site. Site was concrete, close to level, 50 amp, sewer, water & cable. Just fit our 40ft & tow. No mature trees, therefore we were able to get satellite. WiFi was available, but didn't work as more rigs came into park. We carry our own hot spot, so we used our own WiFi. No amenities located at the site. No dog park, but grassy area located at back of park. Bathroom was clean. Park is mainly concrete, but clean and well maintained. There are full timers but Rigs and area kept clean. Good for overnight stay or visiting Wichita and if have access to your own WiFi. We camped at Air Capital RV Park in a Motorhome.

A few restaurants located nearby. Since we didn't unhook our tow, we walked to Applebees. Not a far walk, and there was a crosswalk at light to get across street.

Anchor Down RV Resort, Dandridge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful RV resort. Park located approx. 4 miles off I-40, good access roads. They provided directions, and we by-passed heavy traffic once off I-40. Entrance is wide, up on a incline. When we entered the park, there was staff outside check-in directing where to park for staging as there were 4 other RVs coming in at same time. They had two people working check in inside office. Check in took a few minutes but staff very friendly and helpful. We were directed to our site, easy to locate. We couldn't unhook at check in, therefore were able to once we arrive in front of our site. Internal roads are wide. Our site was back in, 50 amp, with patio and picnic table. We have 40 ft RV, Rig fit great and there was room for our jeep at site. Plenty of room between our site and the next one on the side and back. Rig needed to be leveled in the front, but back was close to level. Our site didn't have trees, therefore was able to get satellite. They also have cable as there are some sites that back up to mature trees. Clean, individual bathrooms located around the park. There is a laundry room, but didn't use it. Garbage is picked up at site in the AM, or there are dumpsters located in overflow parking. There is a dog park, plus plenty of green space to walk dogs with trashcans and bags. Beautiful views of the lake from around the park. There are activities in and around the lake as well as ball courts. There are two overflow parking lots for extra vehicles, boats, jet skis. There is a food truck on site located near the pool. Park is clean and well maintained. We saw staff out and about all day. Park was sold out when we were there, yet it was quiet at night. We were here for a Rally, had a great time, and will be back on our own soon! We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Branson KOA, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

The directions on the KOA site and GPS take you thru the main road in Branson tourist area. Traffic is heavy and it took us 25 minutes to get to KOA from Rt 65 in midday, midweek. Entrance located on a down hill, but once in park, entrance is wide, easy access. Staff is friendly and helpful. They escorted us to our site. Roads in park are wide enough to maneuver a big rig. We were in a deluxe site which was gravel with concrete pads only for the wheels. Our site was just long enough to fit 40ft MH, we had to unhook the tow. The tow did fit sideways behind rig. The site was close to level, with full utilities that worked well. The sites are tiered, narrow and railroad tie walls are deteriorating as are the wood picnic tables, and a small grill. Most sites have trees, and was told I wouldn't be able to get satellite, but we did, otherwise they have cable. Disappointed that this was a deluxe site as park is showing it's age. They do maintain the grounds, however our site as well as others were littered by cigarette butts. It appears they are starting to upgrade some of the site walls with landscaper pavers. There is a store and hunt brothers pizza located in office. Garbage pick up at front of site. Bathrooms were clean but located a distance from tiered deluxe sites. However, there are multiple bathrooms located thru park. There is a pool and playground. Very little traffic noise. Dog park located in far corner as well as a large grassy area nearby to walk dogs. Park located near the main strip, plenty to do in the area for families. We think the fee was slightly over priced for the park condition. We camped at Branson KOA in a Motorhome.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

Located about a mile off I-40. Narrow roads to RV park. Office on hill, therefore we unhooked before arriving. Check in easy, staff very friendly and helpful. Our site was at top of park on side of mountain. It's a steep climb to the top, however, our 40 ft had no issues. We were escorted, which made the climb easier to navigate. Our site was gravel, pull thru, full hook up, close to level with deck, swing & fire ring. Site was long enough to fit Rig and tow. We were in an open area, although surrounded by trees, we were able to get satellite. The bottom half park has mature trees at the sites. They have cable too. WiFi worked great. One of the best maintained park we have ever stayed at! Office with small store, laundry room and exercise room located in front of park. There are bathrooms & laundry room located at top of park too. Used the laundry room, wash - $2.00, dry - $1.25. Machines worked well. There is a gate at front of park, and you are given a code. Only one dumpster located at front by office. Small dog areas, but plenty of internal roads to walk dogs. The park was full when we stayed there, but very quiet. We didn't run AC because it was cool at night, and there was no outside noise. This is a beautiful RV park and we will be back again! We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome. Victory RV Park and Campground, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

What a great find! Small park but well maintained. Park is located a few miles off i-24. The park is located on back roads, that can be narrow at times. However no issues for 40 ft MH with tow, just take it slow. There is a race track close by but we were there overnight during the week, therefore no noise. Check in was pleasant, site easy to locate. Inside roads easy to maneuver. Site was pull thru, gravel, close to level, full utilities. All worked well. No amenities at camp site but they have a pavilion with a few picnic tables. Bathrooms & laundry room very clean. Used laundry room, wash - $1.75, dry - $1.00. Small dog park but plenty of green space to walk dogs. We spent a wonderful quiet night at this park. Just check before you plan to stay if there will be races. We don't need all the fancy amenities, just a quiet, clean, safe place to stay overnight. We would stay here again if passing in the area. We camped at Victory RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $88.00
Overall Rating:

Located off 155, easy in and out for big rigs. Check in has a RV staging area, staff friendly and helpful. Escorted to our deluxe site, fit the 40ft MH and tow without unhooking. Site was close to level, concrete pad with patio, metal table with 4 chairs, and a fire ring. Full utilities, 50 amp, water pressure good. Even with trees, we were able to get a good satellite signal. There was also WIFI, however we used our own hotspot. Park is well maintained. Small dog park, pool, playground in a park like setting. Bathrooms were clean. There is a small store, and social area located in the office. Close to the Grand Ole Opry, and there is a Camping World located within walking distance. There is a shuttle you can call, and ride into Nashville for $10.00 round trip. We chose to use Uber. Some road noise from 155, but buffered inside rig with AC/fan. Only issue we had was people were walking thru our site to get to the pool even though they have paths. Except for a high site fee, we had a great stay. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc., Forrest City, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Located close to 40, take exit, tight right turn on Confederate Ave but plenty wide after that initial turn. Located behind a hotel and restaurant. We got in early, therefore called owner and were told to pick any open site. Owner arrived later in the afternoon, and we settled the bill. We were in an 80 ft long site which fit our Rig and tow. Gravel site close to level and full utilities. All worked well. No frills park. Absolutely no amenities except Wi-Fi. However, grounds clean and well maintained. Open sky so was able to get satellite. Plenty of green space behind hotel to walk dogs. Grocery store and cafe within walking distance. We were surprised that the park filled up at night, but it's a great place for overnight if you are self sufficient. We camped at Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc. in a Motorhome.

Checotah / Lake Eufaula West KOA, Checotah, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Older KOA park but clean & well maintained. Park located on a side road next to I-40, with trees to buffer, however no issues getting in and out with a 40ft MH with tow. Staff was friendly, helpful and took us to our site. Our site was gravel, close to level, full utilities, water pressure good, site long enough so we didn't have to unhook tow. We had a picnic table and patio. There are trees, but we were able to get satellite. Wi-Fi worked good. There is no dog park, however plenty of green area to walk dogs. There is a pool with outdoor sitting area. Office has store with small cafe. We were staying only one night therefore having someone else cook dinner after a long day was perfect. We had burgers and they were good! Located near a lake, there is a short trail down to lake. When outside you will hear noise from i-40, however AC/fan buffer the noise when in the rig. Not fancy, but a great place to stay for a night. We camped at Checotah / Lake Eufaula West KOA in a Motorhome.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Park is located off I-40, and is good for an over night stop. Easy in and out for big rigs. Sites are gravel, spacious, close to level and open to the sky for satellite. Most have picnic tables. We have a 40ft MH with tow, and don't have to unhook. There are now 3 dog areas, all fenced in, and have dog waste bags with a trash can. There is also an indoor pool, store and social area. The Big Texan restaurant is located down the street, and they have free shuttles to restaurant. They also opened Starlight Ranch event center located across from the entrance. Always good for an overnight stay. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Okatoma Resort & RV Park, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We used directions on website, which worked out well. Park is located off I-49 on back roads, but not an issue for 40MH with tow. Entrance is one lane but one way. Check is located at office. We had to turn around to get to our site. Luckily no other rig was checking in, so we had room to turn around, otherwise it can be tight. Internal roads are fine. We were in a transient site, pull thru, grass, had to level, 50 amp, water, sewer. Site fit rig and tow with extra room. Since this was a grass site, it wasn't well define but for one night, worked well for us. No amenities at this site. No cable or WiFi. There are mature trees, we used an external satellite instead of sat on the rig. Small dog park but plenty of green space to walk dogs. The pool was closed for the season. There is a lake located center of park. Park was far enough away from highway, didn't hear any noise. The park was clean and maintained. Exit road is also one lane, one way. Also, even though park was full, it was quiet at night. For the price, it was well worth the value. We camped at Okatoma Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Oaks Resort & Museum, Lady Lake, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here a few times a year, and love this quiet park. Set up to support equine & dog events, therefore lots of open space for horses and dogs. They also support personal events as well (weddings, reunions etc) The park is located a distance off I-75, and the back roads are narrow to the RV entrance. We had no issues with a 40' motor home and tow, just took it slow around corners. You can now reserve on their website, see what is available for the dates and chose your site. When you arrive at park, you can go directly to your site as there is no office or formal check in process. Once settled, they will come by with a check in packet with information. Our site pad was concrete, level, full 50 amp hook up with patio and picnic table. The remainder of the site is asphalt/gravel. Good green space between sites. Easy in and out for big rigs. There is no shade on the sites. They don't have cable, but because our site was open, we had great satellite. Most sites are no shade, open to sky, there are a few back in that are close to trees. They added a pool and spa. As stated above the park is designed for events, therefore no other activities. There is a pool table and TV in the lodge. Grounds are clean! They were working on grounds as we arrived a few weeks after Hurricane Irma. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 2 runs, one each for large and small dogs. Also lots of green area to walk dogs. The laundry room is small, but efficient. There is a museum and cafe on property. The cafe has a full service bar. We ate at the cafe this visit, good food. There is also a fishing pond. If you like quiet, no activities except events, would highly recommend if staying in the area more then a night! We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn, Dunedin, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Dunedin park multiple times the last 3 years. Arrived right after Hurricane Irma, and the park was empty and quiet. Park is located about 30 minutes off major highway but good roads in. Internal roads good, good size check in, and check in was easy. Our site was pull thru, level, concrete, full 50 amp hook up with patio and picnic table. Our site just fit the 40' Rig plus tow. The sites up front are tight to get into, therefore easier to unhook tow in check in area before proceeding to site. There is additional parking located nearby. Some sites are open, other have tress that drop acorns or leaves certain times of year. Park maintenance was working hard to clear storm debris. WiFi was out due to the hurricane, and was not available even after two weeks. Park doesn't have cable. We were on an end site, therefore able to get satellite. There is a small dog park, good size pool, large club house, plenty of activities. This trip I found a borrowing library in the main club house. The bathrooms are clean as are the good size laundry rooms. However, the bathrooms and laundry rooms are starting to show age. Bring bug spray as the park is surrounded by wetlands. We camped at Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn in a Motorhome.

Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines), Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Right off I-10, approximately 6 miles East of I-75. Easy on & off I-10, roads in are fine. Check in was easy, manager was friendly and helpful. Internal roads are gravel, but fine. Our site was long, pull thru, grass, full hook up, open to the sky with a small patio and picnic table. Our site's picnic table was broken. The sites are narrow, center is level, however the edges are higher as we had trouble extending our steps without hitting our patio or grass. Our right slide was slightly hanging over the next site's patio. We got great satellite reception, and wifi was fine.

This is an old Florida park that has had some recent upgrades. Laundry room was in a separate little house in the middle of the park. Laundry room has 4 washers & dryers. Newer, and efficient. Wash 1.50, dry 1.00, very clean!

We came in right after Hurricane Irma, and the internal roads were cleared of debris. The maintenance crew was out the two days we were there taking care of the trees, debris as well as cutting the grass. Conveniently placed trashcans & dog waste stations located around the park. They empty them every day. The grounds are maintained.

There is two small ponds with a warning on alligators (that's a given in Florida). A small fenced dog park, as well as green areas to walk dogs. Small, quint, very clean clubhouse with pool table, coffee station, book library. There is also a picnic pavilion and horseshoes.

It's a good park, located close to major highways, just needs to be updated as far as making some sites wider for today's big rigs. Our RV neighbors were quiet. There is an area of full timers, but they appear to maintain their sites. The park is along one side of I-10, therefore heavy traffic noise. The AC & fans buffer the noise but you can hear it, but didn't bother us. We camped at Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines) in a Motorhome.
