Dos Reis Regional Park, Lathrop, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Camp site was very even but the trees needed to be trimmed back. It was extremely windy here and because the fire pits were so shallow we were afraid to build a fire for fear that the embers would fly across the fence into the large field behind us. Calling the San Joaquin a "river" is generous. Also dog droppings needed to be picked up in the field. The trees were lovely and there is a great park for the kids. Very close to the freeway so good for a stop over, but not an extended stay. We camped at Dos Reis Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rice Hill RV Park, Oakland, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great stop-over on your drive north or south. Right off of the I-5 and next to gas station, convenience store and Denny's. Clean, hot showers, nice recreation area. Even, well kept pads and nice grounds. Very nice people at the front desk and easy check-in. We camped at Rice Hill RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park, Ashland, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely lovely campground. Each site has a water-front view with plenty of room. Nice, clean, hot showers with great water pressure. We took the children fishing and used the swimming area. Also a great playground with a large picnic area for gatherings. The waterslide was closed and I imagine the crowds get large in the summer, but the RV park is well removed from the recreational area. We never met with any of the employees, so we cannot speak to service. We camped at Emigrant Lake - The Point RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Albertsons and a laudry mat right on the other side of I-5.

Wawona Campground (NPS Campground), Yosemite National Park, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely campground right on the river. Just a 30 minute drive to the valley. There is a pretty busy road right above the campground. The noise wasn't too bad, but it made walking anywhere a little hazardouse. No hiking trails right from the campsite, you pretty much need to drive everywhere. The sites are very small and we didn't have much of a "patio" area to set up on, had to walk around the opposite side to get to our fire pit and you share a common area. Overall, nice and quite and away from the crowds of the valley. No hookups and only port-a-potties but they were clean. We camped at Wawona Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Mariposa Grove is very close, definitely spend a day there to enjoy the giant sequoias.
