South Fork Campground, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We make South Fork Campground a regular stop and have since 2011. It is nestled among the trees next to the Rio Grand River - which are gold meadow trout waters at this location. That means you can only keep brown trout over 13" with a two fish limit. There are monthly sites, pull through sites and riverfront sites. The riverfront sites are all on a nightly basis and, except for one site in the corner that has been reserved by the same family for decades, there is a two week limit on the riverfront sites. We love South Fork Campground because it is one of the few campgrounds that allows campfires. Other locations within the city limits are restricted. We also like the river flowing right behind the RV. It's quiet and shaded because of all the trees. Some of the sites put you pretty close to your neighbor and some require some experience to back into because of the trees. The hosts/managers are very friendly and helpful. The laundry room is our favorite of all the local campgrounds. There are six washers and four dryers and a folding table. Great place to stay. We camped at South Fork Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Riverfront sites on the east side are easier to back in to. If using a pull through site, make the loop around to the left and pull in after making the circle.

Wagon Train RV Park, Canton, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Super clean and well maintained small park. I think there are about 14 nice and nicely spaced pull through sites and maybe 6-8 back in sites. Perfect for overnight or several days. Witching 2 miles of an exit off of I-20 and easy in and out.

Super nice folks that run own and run the park. They work hard all the time. We camped at Wagon Train RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
