Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

You can't beat the location! The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Sites were clean, level, and spacious. The only issue I had was with a somewhat rude security lady. That also could just be the NY/NJ personality that I'm not use to. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Treasure Beach RV Park, Selbyville, Delaware

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Pros

Waterfront locations are super spacious, silent and peaceful. 24 hour security seen constantly roaming the grounds. Office open 24 hours. Only minutes away from the beach, ocean city, attractions, Bethany beach, Dewey beach, Assateague, etc...

Jet ski and boat rentals right around the corner. Good eats right outside of the grounds

Employees don't nag you while on the grounds. Pet friendly and I didn't have to have my dog leashed.

Amenities include: pool, skate park, bath houses, laundry facility, volleyball.

Grounds are clean. Lots of seasonals but I wouldn't call it a trailer park by a long shot.

Many inlets for docking boats.

There is a trail, but I didn't pay it too much attention to rate it.

Close to grocery store and hardware store.

Not a lot of Mosquitos which could have to do with time of year.

Staff respond quickly to any issues.

Cons

A "scheduled" water main repair: the water was shut off for a water main repair without warning to any of the short stays. (This was a scheduled repair).

Known to flood. However, if there's availability else where you'll be accommodated.

Employees tend to cater to the seasonals. But overall aren't rude.

No wifi

No cable in certain locations. Not even with the cable box you rent from them.

To summarize our stay at Treasure Beach we absolutely loved it. We'd stay here over and over again. We camped at Treasure Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Breezy Point Beach & Campground, Chesapeake Beach, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pros

-Beach front

-Personal beach area

-Good power and water

-Nice warm water

-Boat and paddle board rental on site

-2 security gates

Cons

-Jellyfish!!!

-Coincidentally spot 16 needs maintenance but we were given boards and assistance to get settled into the site

Summary

My family absolutely loved this campground! This was our first time staying at a public operated campground so some things took some getting used to. We were so pleased with the campground we are contemplating getting a seasonal site next year. We've been all the way to the Keys and haven't had as good of an experience as we had here.... We camped at Breezy Point Beach & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $99.00
Overall Rating:

Pros:

Check in is a breeze (during peek check in hours staff set up outside about 300 yards or so from the entrance and quickly check you in by walking up to your vehicle with an iPad.

Friendly staff

General store with a little of anything you may need

Countless amount of recreational activities for children and family. Nice pool, volley and basketball courts, recreation room, several playgrounds

Grounds and facilities are very clean.

Trash gets picked up by staff from your site.

We were allowed early check in at no additional cost "you can check in as early as you'd like" (there was no one at our site the night before)

No limit on the number of people on your site, no additional cost to visitors (aside from -$7 overflow parking fee) all activities on the grounds are open to your visitors at no extra cost. (Visitors have to be off the grounds by 11 otherwise it's considered an overnight stay. But really no one was checking)

Grounds are easy to navigate. It wasn't difficult for us to pull in to our site. (Pioneer Heights site 51c) good amount of green space.

Free trolley to and from Hershey park every 1/2 hour. Runs from 8a-11p. Park opens an hour early for Hershey occupants.

Countless amount of things to do in the area off grounds.

Grounds feel safe and the area has an extraordinary police department. (Derry Township PD)

Cons:

Our site wasn't shaded but we came prepared for that.

Bugs.... However, we were able to purchase a fogger at the general store that took care of that problem right away.

Train. Let me address this because it's the number one complaint I hear about these grounds....the train does pass by regularly and unscheduled. However, it passes by quickly and did not disturb us at all.

To summarize our visit we loved our stay, our visitors loved it, the kids all had a blast, and being able to experience the grounds with family led to the convincing of my in laws to purchase their own RV. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunshine Holiday RV & Mobile Home Park, Oakland Park, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is ok to stay at if you're purpose of staying in the area is to visit the surrounding areas. Ft. Lauderdale beaches are about a 10 minute drive and Miami is about a 30 minute drive. Basically the ground is a place to store your unit and lay your head at night. There's no real "camping spirit" here. Most of the units during our stay were permanent and we barely saw any neighbors. There are no fire rings provided and the grass could use some manicuring.

However, the ground is quiet, gated and very fairly priced. We camped at Sunshine Holiday RV & Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Boyd's Key West Campground, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $99.00
Overall Rating:

Boyd's Campground is GREAT!!! The staff is nice, office hours are great (open until 10pm). After office hours, security is on duty overnight. Security staff is also very friendly and helpful.

We went to the pool numerous times. The pool is clean and relaxing. The tiki hut is great as well. The laundry room is clean and security works with you if you need to use it past hours for emergencies or what may be.

We have a 40ft 5th wheel and we consider the sites comfortable and the neighbors were always friendly.

We have our own bathroom so we didn't use their facilities. However, we did see staff constantly cleaning the facilities.

The only con about the campground was our disappointment when we found out that we couldn't bathe in our waterfront spot or anywhere on the ground. This however, is not the fault of Boyd's. It's due to the water in the keys. I will say that our area did have a funky smell due to exactly this, the water. However, it wasn't anything that we couldn't live with.

Closet beach is 2 miles away, Smarhers beach. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

River's End Campground & RV Park, Tybee Island, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

We would most definitely stay here over and over again. The ground is clean, friendly and feels safe. The beach is awesome and in walking or bike riding distance. We actually ran into an issue while packing up, had to run out and ran 3 hours past checkout. But we informed the staff and they worked with us no hassle at all and were not charged any extra fees. I would recommend this site to everyone. It is reasonably priced and WELL WORTH IT. Just stock up on bug spray, the gnats are wild. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lost Lake RV Park, Apopka, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We didn't bother to set up at this location. We would only stay here again as a last resort. It's more of a permanent site ground. It was clean, the pull though site was level and travel to Orlando was convenient. If a true campground were to have availability we'd have stayed elsewhere. We camped at Lost Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bar Harbor RV Park & Marina, Abingdon, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

My family stayed here last week during the week and it was great. This was a quick and easy get away for us as we only live 1.5hrs from the grounds. It was nice and quiet, friendly rvers, and good weather. The bugs were a little annoying but we should've had spray with us. We didn't use the showers or bath but the pool was really nice. The pool had some leaves in the bottom but it wasn't excessively dirty. There are two piers and a man made beach with chairs and gliders provided. Our family will definitely be returning soon! We camped at Bar Harbor RV Park & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Ocean View Resort Campground, Ocean View, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We recently stayed at Oceanview for a 2 night stay during the week. It was nice and quiet and all but empty. It was the week before Memorial Day weekend so some of the amenities weren't open but we enjoyed ourselves and weren't bothered one time by anyone. Some of the roads are extremely tight depending on the size of your rig. We have a 40' Raptor so we know to book accordingly. The site we stayed at was directly across from the lake and was as level as they come, I didn't even need the leveling blocks. The only catch was the sewer inlet was higher than my RV so it took some creative thinking to empty the tanks. We ended up leaving with our black tank not emptied and dumped on the way home. But I'd definitely stay again and again. We paid $49 a night which is great for a few minutes from the beach in my opinion. We camped at Ocean View Resort Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
