Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA, Bernalillo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Sites have AstroTurf so they don't allow your dog on the pitch with you. The dog runs are just dirt. Some sites looked better but ours was narrow. On a slope so need to unhitch to keep the RV level, but room for the truck at the back on the slope. Customer service poor. They serve breakfast Thursday to Sunday. For overnight would be fine but for several days was not practical for us. We camped at Albuquerque North / Bernalillo KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Seattle / Tacoma KOA, Kent, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

It provides a base for Seattle. There was an ice cream social in the evening and a movie. Overall not too bad at all with the proviso that the sites are very small and very tightly packed. Your picnic table will be 2ft away from your neighbor's sewer. We camped at Seattle / Tacoma KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Deerpark / New York City NW KOA, Godeffroy, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed three nights and it was a good experience. The site was terrible to reverse into because of the trees but once there it was beautiful, backing onto the river.

Our seven year old had an amazing time in the river, on trails and on the water slide.

Cable TV and Wifi did not work at all. We camped at Deerpark / New York City NW KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA, St. Petersburg, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second stay here. It's a very large park and there is a wide variety of pitch types. There are a lot of (semi)-permanent sites here and they are fairly strict about visitors: often someone watching the entrance.

This time we were in a back-in by the water's edge. It was extremely difficult to get in. One challenge is that there is a permanent resident directly opposite who has a lot of plastic fences and other paraphernalia on his verge to defend his turf. This makes it very hard to back in.

It's expensive but there are good facilities (decent pool, hot tub, volleyball and pétanque area). Dog run is extremely small though. Staff are friendly. It is ideal for the beaches and there are plenty of stores near by.

We've had two poor pitches here and if there was more choice we'd not come back but there isn't. We camped at St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Dallas / Arlington KOA, Arlington, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Spacious sites, plenty of large pull-thrus. It's the bleak midwinter today but yesterday was in the 70s and people actually in the pool.

Cable good, wifi the usual slow affair but free. Two decently sized dog runs; one for large and the other for small dogs.

Busy - looks like there is a fair mix between long term stays and temporary guest like us but it has been quiet. There is a gate and you need an access code at night. We camped at Dallas / Arlington KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Miami Everglades Resort, Miami, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed over Christmas. Park was reasonably full with lots of activities such as volleyball which made for a good atmosphere. There is plenty of space here and the mini golf is high quality. Two shuffleboard areas are available as well as volleyball, basketball and tennis. Good value for the holiday season I thought. Reasonable pitches, all grass. We camped at Miami Everglades Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA, Sugarloaf Key, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

Great location. Own beach, pub and pool. Mooring and rentals. Sites are back-in but ours was wide, so plenty of room. They allowed us to move when we explained my mother's mobility issues and we were very near the beach/pub/pool. Genuinely one of the best KOAs. We camped at Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA in a Motorhome.

St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA, St. Petersburg, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $96.00
Overall Rating:

Despite paying for a 'premium' site, they put us in a very narrow pull-through that couldn't accommodate our 36 ft rig. The front desk moved us to a better site. Sites are extremely uneven and it's pretty crowded. Pool is excellent. Wi-Fi typically poor but enough to grab emails and is free. Unappealing drive past car repair shops but the view once in the campground is better. Not terrible is the best I can say. We camped at St. Petersburg / Madeira Beach KOA in a Motorhome.
