Win-River Casino, Redding, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight in our class C with friends in their 5th wheel coming home to CA from Idaho. Modern, clean and secure little 14 space rv park as part of the WinRiver Casino complex. They took part of the back parking lot and made full hookup, drive-thru sites with an adjoining wooded border and grassy lawn/picnic/bbq area. Golf cart shuttle guy comes to greet you and tell you to call whenever you want to ride to the casino hotel, where RV renters have all of the same hotel amenities as hotel guests, i.e.- pool, spa, etc..... Sites are clean and level with security staff patrolling the area 24 hrs. We thought it was a great find at a great price with the casino, restaurants and short drive off I-5 for heading home the next day. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Win-River Casino in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a destination stop, as once in the rv park and connected you have the Casino/Hotel as your primary resource unless you have a toad to reach out into the greater Redding area. I would definitely make this a waypoint on future I-5 trips north or south from our Folsom, CA base. In the middle of summer this would be a very hot location tho so I'd tend toward Spring, Fall or Winter stays here.

Vale Trails RV Park , Vale, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night enroute to Bend, Oregon. We in a class C motorhome and friends in a fifth wheel. Modest little RV park in town but quiet and gravel pull-thru's with some grass and picnic tables, full hookups. Most notable was the office staff who demonstrated a very positive image of this little frontier/farming community and made sure we knew of the best local restaurants and local exhibits of murals on the towns buildings. We were impressed with the pride shown in their home community. Not a destination park but would certainly stay there again for the quiet, security and good clean restroom/shower facilities. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This small town has a well known public art "mural" walk that can take up to a couple of hours as you walk and see depictions of the pioneer history of the early Oregon Trail pioneers seeking a home in Oregon or California.

Miracle Hot Springs RV Park, Buhl, Idaho

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Two couples in a class C and a 5th wheel stayed one night and enjoyed the great hot springs facility with open public pools and the option to get a private tub experience where small kids were not an issue......nice for us older, retired types! Nice little grassy park setting alongside a little rushing creek. Even got to see the mascots of the park in an enclosure with a pond....a big tortoise and a 12 to 14 foot crocodile lazing in the sun on his own private island....fun to see and photograph.! We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Miracle Hot Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely plan to use the hot pools as we saw folks going in for the morning and then again at night. Very relaxing after a long day of driving and takes all the kinks out of the neck and back. Rustic but clean and safe environment with a really good dollar to value

Ratio. You won't find too many hot springs rv parks with their own resident gator!

Bend / Sisters Garden RV Resort, Sisters, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very beautiful park with all the finest amenities! Both couples in our party would stay here again and recommend to any other RVers. The only two negatives are the rather confusing signage related to the dog potty areas. Then the name of the park implying that it is located in Bend, OR. This park is just a couple of miles outside Sisters, OR but we spent an hour getting lost in Bend looking for it! Then drove the 16 or so miles North to the actual location. We loved the place once we found it. This is a class A park for any size RV. Very well groomed grounds. Bath/shower buildings were immaculate and very well engineered for comfort and privacy. Will visit again! We camped at Bend / Sisters Garden RV Resort in a Motorhome.

McCall RV Resort, McCall, Idaho

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 nights in our small Class C and our friends in their 5th Wheel. Beautiful, very well groomed and maintained park in the forest, next to the river just outside McCall, Idaho. Great clubhouse with indoor heated pool, hot tub, steam room, gym and five separate residential style bathrooms with showers and all the privacy one would need. Very caring, attentive staff and two very friendly blond kit foxes who came daily to eat handouts from campers. Loved the stay, will return in the future. We camped at McCall RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A small micro-brewery is located just outside the entrance to the rv park, several nearby restaurants are in McCall with good shopping and lots of things to do in this small mountain resort town very reminiscent of a miniature Lake Tahoe. Good base camp for day excursions around the area.
