Bandera's Bunkhouse, Howard, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Small park along river. Managers were very nice and helpful. Worked with us when we were stuck in previous park. Not charging us for two missed days and even gave us our discount for a weeks stay when we were only there for five nights. The mountains were spectacular and snow covered. The road was winding like the river. Very small town. Restaurant says open 7 days a week. Not so. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Did not go. River rafting, rock climbing, four wheeling into mountains and sight-seeing are available. Rained almost every day-late May. Would stay here again. Our site was next to pond and watched muskrat and birds and horses. River was high and fast from all the rain and snow melt. We camped at Bandera's Bunkhouse in a Motorhome.

La Mesa RV Park, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Close to town but very quiet. Lots to see and do in the area. Worked with us to stay a couple of extra days due to snow in the pass and Rv breakdown. Views were spectacular of snow capped mountains. Very friendly and well kept. Would stay again longer. Mostly level sites on gravel. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

4 corners half an hour away. Mesa Verde Nat'l Park half an hour away. The million dollar road loop is something everyone should see. Majestic mountains with small nestled towns between.
