Great local campground on river. Minutes from shopping in Williamsburg. Our trip consists of women shopping while men fish. Win win. Great river view sites available. We camped at Chickahominy Riverfront Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Great campground. Clean, great sites, and reasonable prices. The campground offers extra activities such as wine tours, kayak adventures and more. The bathhouse is clean with private stalls including toilet and shower. Lots of activities for children as well. We visit the campground at least twice every year. We camped at Misty Mountain Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA), Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great park. Nice sites, entertainment for the kids. On a pond with streams that run throughout the park. Need additional bath house near lower sites. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Middle Creek Campground, Buchanan, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

OMG! The worst campground in poverty I have ever seen. If you make it down the 5 mile single lane road (hope and pray an oncoming camper isn't approaching) and into the 3rd world country, you will be in for a surprise! The double-wide trailer located in the center surrounded by "Resident" campers is just the beginning. The residents appear to have a love for collecting junk on their make-shift porches. The store has a great source of "used" items just in case you forgot anything. The stream is pretty, but from the look of the campground, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the "full" hook-up option. We stayed for a total of 10 minutes. Enough time to cancel and turn the camper around. "Sure hope no one is coming in as we leave!" We camped at Middle Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.
