Falls Lake SRA / Holly Point Campground, Wake Forest, North Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

On the water, able to walk down a small slope right on our site to launch a kayak and one could fish if they chose to. So peaceful, though not far from the beach or bathhouse. Well lit paved paths to the bathhouse. Oh, and trash pickup from cans provided next to the site on the road. Very, very nice helpful staff from the maintenance workers to the rangers as well as the campground hosts. We will be returning next year for sure, if only it was a little closer (we live in MD). Lot spacing is spacious with some shade. Site surface was dirt and features a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at Falls Lake SRA / Holly Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We took a ride to Durham and enjoyed an awesome meal (outdoor seating which was perfect because we had our dog Lucky with us), in a fun eclectic setting. Also walked around the Durham Bulls stadium, sadly the season didn't begin for another 2 weeks. Teeter Harris is a grocery store which is nearby and they have a Redbox in case you want to rent a movie for a rainy day.

Kiptopeke State Park, Cape Charles, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We loved Kiptopeke and will be returning for a longer stay! The park programs and staff are awesome, they truly enjoy their work and are very friendly as well as knowledgable. The beach was great and easy to get to, loved the dog beach too. The sunsets take your breath away. The only reason I did not give a PERFECT score is due to the fact that the dumpsters are a good ways away by the entrance although there are recyclable containers near the campsites (when you have a dog you need trash disposal a little closer or at least pet waste disposal bins) We camped at Kiptopeke State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Cape Charles which is nearby has a great ice cream shop called Brown Dog Ice Cream and they serve doggy ice cream as well for your furry pets. The beach and parking in Cape Charles is all free too if you want to spend the day exploring this little town.

North Beach Campground, Burlington, Vermont

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful location right on the bike path which goes along Lake Champlain. Love walking it with my dog Lucky. Campground connects to the beach which is clean and surrounded by mountains just stunning! Admission to the beach is free for campers and a very short walk. Bath houses as is the park have been around since the 70's so older yet very clean oh and they have a dish washing area too. Staff was super nice, even helped park our new camper ???? some of the sites are uneven so have your leveling blocks, not a biggie. We plan to make that 10 hour trip again next year, so much to do if you choose or you can just kick back and relax! We camped at North Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.
