Caballo Lake RV Park, Caballo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was a wonderful rural place to stay. The electricity is added on at the end of stay at .14KWH. The roads were gravel but in good shape and the spaces were fairly level. The owner was very nice and friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the area and its history. We only stayed one night on our way to Albuquerque, but are considering going back for a longer period and explore and fish. We were on our way to an AKC dog show with quite a few dogs, but they are very pet friendly. The hookups were very convenient and easy to access. We had a pull through in which we had no problem in remaining hooked up with our 56' long rig. This was definitely a great value for the money. We camped at Caballo Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake very close and the owner said ghost towns & old mining sites are all around the area. Not much of any shopping close by as it is very rural and quiet.

Cactus RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet and clean. Very enjoyable. The office was an old building but was clean. The woman who took our money went outside and showed me the easiest way to access my site and then guided me into it. She did her best to keep us in the shade:) Not all sites were well shaded, but some were and the park didn't have a lot of customers the night we stayed. The whole park looked to be very level and the utilities were very convenient to access. The site I used had both 30 & 50 amp with water and sewer and cable which I didn't use. I have slides on both sides that make me about 15' wide & I had plenty of room. I think she mentioned wifi, but I don't use if I have good Verizon 4g & I did here. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We didn't take any sight seeing tours here but Old Route 66 here looks fairly typical of these old towns that I-40 bypassed 40 years ago. Most of the small towns really show their wear due to the lack of tourism they get now.

Dub'l R RV Park, Brinkley, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is about 3 miles off of I-40 in a rural farming area. Husband & wife owners were very friendly & helpful. No extra's that I saw here, but a great place for a stop overnight. My Verizon 4G hotspot worked great here at 25M down. 30 & 50 amp service with water & sewer. We camped at Dub'l R RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
