We stayed at Henry's Lake State Park for 5 nights while visiting Yellowstone NP. We choose Henry's Lake because we like to have hookups (at least water & electric) and but didn't want a "parking lot". The sites were generously spaced which allowed our dog to roam a little on a 20 foot lead. They have GREAT hiking trails. Every site has at least a decent view of the lake. There aren't alot of trees but I felt that cut down on the mosquitos (which were only a problem 1 out of the 5 nights we stayed) We didn't even need to use levelers but from looking around, that was an exception, not the rule. Everything you could want from a State Park. NO WiFi but we were too busy just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Very quick commute to Yellowstone's West entrance. It was so nice to be away from the crowds at the end of each day. Very quiet - no shenanigans going on. It's unfortunate they don't have a swimming beach - that might have been nice. Minimum boat traffic on the lake (but we were there mid-week) We camped at Henrys Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.
Very close to the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway. Mesa Falls is worth the trip - very nice park.
