South Llano River RV Park & Resort, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This was an easy overnight stop off I-10. Our pull thru site allowed us to leave our full size PU under tow. Roads in park are a dirt and gravel combo...it would be a mess here in the rain! Scant grass at the sites, which had no table, fire ring, etc. the campground was quiet and right on the river. The utilities were easily accessible and worked well. The cable TV was better than most. We walked into town and had great burgers at Paddlers Porch. We would stay here again. We camped at South Llano River State Park in a Motorhome. American Heritage Campground, Olympia, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is an RV park in the trees and should not be advertised as "Big Rig accessible". Our 40' motorhome could barely manage to navigate the asphalt road through the trees to a call field where we could park. We had 30 amp service only and parked on grassy gravel. We could neither use our OTA antenna or our DirecTV due to the trees around us. The gentleman on a bike who guided us to our site was bossy and rude. He was irate that we could not follow his bike route through the asphalt trail exactly, even though we were almost 13' tall and 40' long. We will never stay here again. We camped at American Heritage Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a delightful park on the Sacramento River just south of Redding. As a travel on I-5 this is a great place to overnight and/or explore the area. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seven Feathers RV Park, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is an excellent stop when traveling through Oregon on I-5. The sites are adequate with lots of grass. The park, located in a creek canyon, is beautiful, and offers walking and biking paths. Worth the stop. Be aware that sites 95 through 104 back up on the creek, are oriented for afternoon shade from your awning and are nice and quiet. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coyote Valley RV Resort, Morgan Hill, California

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is convenient to San Jose and offers reasonable services. However, it is expensive, the sites are very small and the park has many long term residents. We chose a premium site for our 40' motor home and full sized pick up and barely had room to park both. We could not put out our awning because of a very close tree. The common facilities are very nice and they do offer garbage pickup at the site. We camped at Coyote Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Needles KOA, Needles, California

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was an over night stop and we didn't expect a lavish site. We did expect our site to be a pull through but it was too short to allow us to keep the tow attached. The site was dirt. Minimal vegetation. Certainly not what we expect from a KOS. Should we need a stop in Needles again we will try the Desert View RV Resort next door. We camped at Needles KOA in a Motorhome.

Galesburg East Campground, Knoxville, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorite campgrounds in Illinois. We grew up in the area so it's close to family and friends. The sites, while gravel, are long enough to accommodate our 40' coach and tow. The sites are under tall shade trees and in the summer are cooling and rustling. The sites have full hook ups including 50-amp service. The park owner is welcoming, fun to talk with, and works diligently to make his guests comfortable. I gave our site a four-star rating since it was gravel not cement. We camped at Galesburg East Campground in a Motorhome.

Owl's Nest Campground, Junction City, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We needed an overnight stop near Manhattan, KS, to visit friends and chose this campground based on previous recommendations. When I called to make reservations, I told the campground attendant that we were a 40' motorhome towing a full-sized pickup, and wanted to be sure that this campground could accommodate us. No problem, I was told! Imagine our surprise when we pulled into this teeny place and could barely negotiate the fairways with our pickup unhooked! We were in site 11, right next to the road, and got to hear the early morning workers headed to their jobs. I-40, indeed, was only 1/2 mile away, adding to the noise. Yes, they do have cable, but we needed a "box" to access their service. Rather out-dated. We will never stay here again. We camped at Owl's Nest Campground in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Bob's RV Park, Lawton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The entry into the park was a challenge for a 40' RV towing a full-sized pickup. If anyone had been parked in front of the office we would not have been able to make the turn. No one was in the office at 2 PM when we arrived and had to call the posted phone number. Someone came about 5 minutes after I spoke with him, along with his three dogs who tried to enter our coach. The site was adequate for a 2-night stop. He did indicate that the washers and dryers were free, but we did not verify this. We camped at Buffalo Bob's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Buck Creek RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this campground so that we could explore Abilene. The sites were gravel and our heavy motorhome sank somewhat. Since it was a rainy spring our site had plenty of grass that desperately needed to be mowed. We tried to sit outside but the tall grass was damp and buggy and we didn't last long. There is no patio area, cover, BBQ, etc. provided. This is an OK spot for overnight but not a place to spend a week. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is an RV park Resort and it has many lovely amenities. We stayed here for 8 days to visit with friends and tour the Texas Hill Country. When we checked in we explained that we were a 40' RV towing a full size pick up and needed parking room. We were put in site 6031, backed up against the maintenance shed. We backed into the space...no problem...but had little room to park our pickup. In fact, we had to encroach on our neighbor's site. The garbage trucks came twice a week at 5:30 AM to pick up the garbage. Very noisily. I don't think the park should put anyone along this south corridor unless absolutely necessary and then the price should be reduced. We would stay here again but will be very specific in our reservations to ask for the adult section with a water view. Be aware that electricity Is Not included in the site fee. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

San Angelo State Park, San Angelo, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This lovely state park just outside of San Angelo was a great 3-day stop. The daily fee for camping is $20 but each of us paid $4 park entrance fee daily, thus $28 per day. The park entrance fee can be avoided by purchasing a $70 yearly Texas state park pass. We chose site #14 with a view of the (distant) lake. The wild flowers were blooming, the sun was shining, and each site is so spacious we felt we were in the park alone. Each site has a concrete pad plus a concrete covered patio with a picnic table. Lots of biking and hiking available. This park is home to the official Texas State longhorn herd as well as a herd of bison. We had a great stay! We camped at San Angelo State Park in a Motorhome.

Midessa Oil Patch RV Park, Odessa, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed three nights in our 40' RV. We did not use any park facilities although laundry, showers, and a dog park were available. The fairways and sites were gravel. Our pull-through site was not long enough to allow us to pull through with our tow attached. In fact the road we needed to use to drive our tow to the site was blocked. Checking in at this RV park was the first time we experienced a lost reservation. Although the desk clerk was most helpful (I'd made the reservation and recognized her voice), I don't think the paperwork was ever found. The biggest problem with this park is that we were advised not to use the water due to a heavy nitrate concentration. Smelled funny and tasted funny. We did not fill our fresh water tank here. This is OK for an overnight stop but that's all. We camped at Midessa Oil Patch RV Park in a Motorhome.
