Bowling Green KOA, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first KOA experience. It is a decent campground, but it is horribly overpriced. When we first arrived, they gave us a different site which happened to be cheaper than what we paid for. After talking to them, they moved us to the one we booked online and said if we had wanted to stay they would have refunded the extra money paid. It is just weird, because judging by another couple we talked to and the reviews here it is something that they continue to do so keep an eye out for a switch.

There are tons of things in the park like a little pond with paddle boats, a miniature golf course, outdoor chess set, a pool and probably some other things I didn't notice. Every inch of land is filled with something. I did like the dog park, it was nice to let my girl run around after traveling on the road.

The spots are close together and SUPER close if you are parked next to a big rig. I could touch the slide-outs of our neighbors from the patio if I had wanted to.

The dumpsters were spilling out onto the road because they were so full. I don't know when the pick-up date is, but it definitely needs to be more often.

I would look around for a better value if I were you. It is doubtful I will go back to a KOA unless I have to. Bowling Green itself is lovely though. This campground is super close to everything. We camped at Bowling Green KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sweetwater Valley RV Park, Villa Rica, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a hard review to write, because there are things that I love about this park and things that I hate. Lets start off with the bad, because if you can handle it you should definitely stay here.

The road into the park is a very long single lane. It is incredibly narrow and a mix of uneven gravel and sporadic paved bits. It is bumpy and there are too many pot holes to count. Your underside will probably get scraped and branches will likely drag across your rig like it did ours.

The bathrooms are pretty gross. There are lots of cobwebs and dead bugs. I peeked at the showers and they were just as bad. I didn't rate them incredibly low, because I can admit that it could be worse. They were at least free from human-specific dirtiness.

The lots are very soft dirt and aren't particularly level because of this. We were able to make do, though.

Now, you are probably wondering about the good. Well...the location is absolutely lovely. It is incredibly shady and pretty. They are walking trails, a farm, an open field, goats, bunnies, and even a peacock. There is also a lake that isn't part of the park, but it is all so nice to look at. It is a gorgeous park nature wise. It feels so incredibly relaxing. All you hear is nature and quiet. I'm guessing a lot of people don't know about this place, because there weren't very many people here, so your neighbors are very spaced out.

Despite how rough it was getting in, I would totally come back. It is affordable and absolutely beautiful. We camped at Sweetwater Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stagecoach RV Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I really enjoyed this campground. The lots were very spacious and the park is clean and quiet. There are a lot of older people here. It doesn't feel as touristy as I thought it would be. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Stagecoach RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Raccoon River Campground, Panama City Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Management and staff are very friendly. We got in at night and someone helped us find our site, though they didn't actually seem to know where it was. It is very shaded which is nice, but the spots are just grass and dirt so they aren't very level. The park itself was quiet and we felt very safe here. If it weren't so expensive, I would probably return. We camped at Raccoon River Campground in a Travel Trailer.
