Branson KOA, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is a park with the normal amenities. Electric, water and sewer at each site. Cable and WiFi also available. Trash picked up at each site every morning. Staff was friendly and helpful. My complaints are probably petty to most people. I made numerous long distance calls, trying to make reservations, but only got their answering machine. Finally gave up. We arrived after hours and had to pick a site from a map on the wall. Site was very short and narrow and very unlevel. Would not have chosen this site in the daylight. My wife is disabled and had a hard time navigating the leftover concrete pad not used by the trailer. Probably could have moved to another site in the morning, but we were already set up and didn't want to tear down and reset somewhere else. Definitely recommend you show up during normal business hours if you have special needs as their night check-in is not very descriptive. Thought it was kinda pricey even with a KOA card. But giving their location close to the strip, its probably typical. Also picnic tables are on the side of the hill and pretty much unusable. I would expect better from a KOA . We camped at Branson KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Daisy State Park, Kirby, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a typical state park with the normal amenities. Electric and water at the site with a centrally located dump station. Nice quiet, clean park. Our pad was concrete and fairly level and had a view of the lake. Antenna TV reception was fair, no cable or WiFi. Had picnic table and fire ring. Did not use public restrooms. Roads are a little tight in places due to trees. But manageable. We stayed only one night as we were just passing through. Will stay here again if back this way. We camped at Daisy State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pomme De Terre State Park, Pittsburg, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is a typical state park with the normal amenities. Electric and water at the site with a centrally located dump station. Nice quiet, clean park. Our pad was asphalt and not very level and had no view of the lake. Antenna TV reception was fair, no cable. WiFi was very weak, probably would be better for those camped closer to the ranger booth. Had picnic table with a roof over it and a fire ring. Did not use public restrooms. Roads are a little tight in places, due to trees. But manageable. Will stay here again if back this way. We camped at Pomme De Terre State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch for trees , very close to the road. Some sites on an incline , bring lots of leveling blocks.

WaKeeney KOA, WaKeeney, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Despite being right next to the interstate, this is reasonably quiet park. There is some road noise, but not intolerable. The park is extremely clean and well maintained. This staff is very friendly. The sites are gravel but reasonably level. All utilities worked as they should with no problems. We stayed here twice, once while heading west and again on our return trip heading east. This is a nice enjoyable park to stay at overnight after you're beat up from the road and need some rest. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Just got back home from staying 5 days at this wonderful park. The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to make room for us even though we didn't have a reservation. Reservations are highly recommended, as this place fills up fast. Even though our site didn't have cable , everything else made up for it. Every time I went outside to do something the staff stopped by to see if I needed help or to ask if I needed anything. The other utilities worked as they should, and the Wi-Fi was adequate. Not super fast, but strong signals and never dropped connection. Our site was gravel and level. It rained several times while we were there and never had to deal with mud or sinking in the gravel. Had deer wander through the campground every evening and was very enjoyable for my wife to watch them. I would HIGHLY recommend this campground and will definitely return if we are ever in the area again. This place is probably the quietest park we ever stayed in and VERY peaceful. I just can't say enough good things about this place. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

It's about 15 miles south of Colorado Springs, Co. And about an equal distance drive in any direction to the many local attractions. Pike's peak, Royal Gorge etc.
