Creekside Mountain RV Park, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here by accident during the Sturgis Bike Rally. We were lucky to find a site. Because we have a motor home, we did not care about restrooms or showers. We really liked this small (15 sites) campground. Close to all the attractions, but not in the middle of all the rally madness. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You are close to everything. We liked the small campground and the low price for the area. The great "Rails to Trails" walking/bike trail (excesible from the campground) is 2 miles from downtown Hill City. Since I walk every morning, this was quite a surprise.

Casino Queen RV Park, East Saint Louis, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two full days here. What a great location! You can see the Arch from your site! A free 24 hour shuttle takes you to the Casino (next door) and the Metro, which we took into the city. We camped at Casino Queen RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the free shuttle to the Metro. Saves paying the expensive parking in the city. We visited the Gateway Arch, Union Station, Busch Stadium and the St Louis Casino. If you go to the Brew House across from the stadium, you can take the trolley to the Anheuser-Busch plant for a free tour (includes a free drink at the end).

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park - Knightstown, Knightstown, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

What a pleasant surprise. We stop here so my husband could visit the Hoosier Gym, after watching the movie. We had large pull through site, very clean campground and friendly staff. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park - Knightstown in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely visit the Hooiser Gym. The volunteers very knowledgeable not only about the movie, but also the gym and town. The Hooiser Home Court Cafe had great home cooked meals (try the hand pounded tenderloin sandwich). The Gas Grill, across highway 109, in Speedway Service Station was recommended by the staff and turned out to be a real gem. The daily specials are not only delicious, but more than you can eat!

Carrollwoods RV Campground, Tabor City, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The $10 price reflects C2C. This family owned campground a few miles south of Tabor City, is a must. Full hookups with pull thru sites. This campground is nestled in the heart of tobacco farmland. This was one of the most peaceful and quiet campgrounds we have ever stayed in. We are definitely going back. We camped at Carrollwoods RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground with long pull-through sites. The sites have a large amount of room on both sides for family activities. This park is only 15 miles from the center of Savannah, GA with some of the most beautiful city parks anywhere in this great country. The water pressure was a little low but all the other hookups were fine. The price is a little high but the proximity to Savannah and Tybee Island make up for the cost. We camped at Skidaway Island State Park in a Motorhome.

Big Cypress National Preserve - Midway Campground, Ochopee, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice National Preserve campground in the Everglades. We stayed for 3 nights and filled the days with great trips. Everglades City is a must and continue to Chokoloskee Island to the Smallwood Store. If you like to bike, the 15 mile Shark Valley bike trail is concrete and the nicest in any national park. The wildlife is incredible and we saw at least 50 alligators many not 5 feet from us. We camped at Big Cypress National Preserve - Midway Campground in a Motorhome.

Everglades City is a must and City Seafood crab cake sandwich was delicious. The museum was also very interesting, but the Smallwood Store Trading Post in Chokoloskee was, for $5/person, the coolest museum I have ever seen.

We found this campground to be very comfortable. Easy access off the interstate, very easy check in by very helpful employees. Some sites can be tight depending on the rig but the staff was more than willing to help out. We camped at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in a Motorhome.

The Great Outdoors RV Resort, Franklin, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The price I quoted is a rally rate including tax. This is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in. The meeting room is beautiful with a full kitchen and a staff which couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The terraced campsites give a lovely view of the mountains. We were on the highest tier and had good cell and wifi service. Sites are gravel and very level. We are considering Great Outdoors for a rally next year. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground, Waves, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The rate reflects C2C and we stayed on the sound side which was very windy, but it was the first week of May. There are a number of sites close to the water and the views are incredible. Our water heater ruptured near the end of our stay and we had to use the shower facilities which were very clean and comfortable. We will be back next year. We stayed at Camp Hatteras in a motorhome. First Landing State Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The rate is for a non VA resident. Campground was very nice on northern shore of Virginia Beach. We will definitely go back to this campground, in fact, we were told to book 11 months out and we will do that. This time of year the weather can be iffy but it is worth the chance. Sorry, we will not give out our site number because we feel it was the best in the park! We camped at First Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

Manatee Hammock Campground, Titusville, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very shady and consequently a very dirty campground. This is a County owned park, thus the low per night cost. Excellent location to watch rocket launches from Cape Canaveral and side trips to Coca Beach. There is not a lot to do in the immediate area. There are a lot of permanents and tenters on weekends. If the need arises we would stay there again, but not on a weekend. We stayed in a motorhome. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.

Jekyll Island Campground, Jekyll Island, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Jekyll Island from December 30 thru January 2, 2016 on our way to Florida. We normally stay in Brunswick, GA but thought we would get the Island experience, what a surprise. Wonderful campground and great people to help. Can not say enough good about it even after I hit a tree branch pulling in. The people in the site across from us gave me a name and he came out News Years day to patch my roof. Walking distance to the beach and fishing pier. Bicycle riding is the transportation of choice on the trail which circles the island. Cannot wait until next year. We camped at Jekyll Island Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park a couple of miles from Harrah's Cherokee Casino. We stayed right on the creek and it was a very quiet spot. Friendly courteous staff will escort campers to the site and back them in. Level sites, pretty good shade but we could get satellite. Nice campground to stop by for a few days while travelling in the Maggie Valley, Cherokee area.
