Thousand Lakes RV Park, Torrey, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Good location for visiting Capital Reef NP. FHU, level sites, good utilities. WiFi was out during our stay due to severe weather a couple days prior. Adequate space between sites. We had limited shade, which was nice. Well kept overall, would stay here again! We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chaco Culture National Historic Park, Gallo Campground, Nageezi, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

21 mile access road from Nalgeezi, Rte 550. Took almost an hour and a half. 1st 8 miles paved, next 7 good gravel. Last 7 ROUGH gravel - go slow, pick your route, it's not a rush! Sites are level, no shade. Tended to be pretty short, but we fit. Wonderful cultural experience. Very helpful NPS staff. PLAN FOR WIND! We had one gust that had to be well over 50 mph - destroyed some shelters/tarps that were set out in the CG. We were there 3 nights - enough time to see most of the front country sites. Got in 1 hike back to Alto Pueblo. Worth seeing the area from the mesa above! We camped at Chaco Culture National Historic Park, Gallo Campground in a Motorhome.

Coronado Campground, Bernalillo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

As others said, paved pull-thru, but very unlevel. Good power, water was shared between sites, so close for some, long reach for others. Picnic tables each in very nice covered shelter! Restrooms dated, showers clean, but outdated. Current road construction near entrance make it difficult to enter/exit, and hard to find! Walmart and similar stores in close proximity. Coronado Monument next door - worthwhile stop!!! Would stay here again (actually did - visited both heading to and out of Chaco Canyon). We camped at Coronado Campground in a Motorhome.

Mama Bear RV Park, Capitan, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Needed a place for 1 night after several nights travelling. Chose this due to closeness to Smokey Bear memorial (literally next door). Cash only, owners on site. FHU pull thru, close to neighbor (who wasn't there). Multiple seasonals/full time residents, but very neat/clean. Toured Lincoln (Billy the Kid site), too. Decent WiFi, utilities good. Laundramat off site, but right next door. Restaurants within walking distance. Would stay there again! We camped at Mama Bear RV Park in a Motorhome.

Jolly Roger Travel Park, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice park! Wanted to visit the Keys, so looked for a central location. PA discount made this possible! PA users get an interior vs waterfront site, which was fine by us! Nice level, grassy site, not crowded together (this time of year!), still only 200' from the water. Small concrete pad for picnic table. During busy season you would be touching your neighbors slide, tho. Staff did a nice job since they weren't crowded to leave vacant sites between campers. Nice docking/launch for boats (we have a kayak), safe area to swim/snorkel. FHU including cable all worked fine. WiFi at the site - sometimes spotty - but adequate. Management says they were upgrading that while we were there. Good Verizon cell/data, no OTA except 2 Spanish (Cuban?) channels. Marathon has good grocery/Walgreens/etc., also free/clean public beaches (no sandy beach at resort). Office staff and fellow travelers very friendly. About 1.25 hrs to Key West - nice ride. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Water's Edge RV Park, Shoal Brook, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little park - excellent waterfront location - watched whales feeding from our camper window right in the bay! Used a 20A site - GFI kept popping during heavy rainstorm... Water is under a "boil" order. Use the dump station in the GMNP about 10 miles before you reach the park. Owners JUST installed satellite internet during our stay - WiFi good near the office, marginal away from building, but they were trying to correct that. Sites quite close to the road, but minimal traffic at night so no issue with noise. Would certainly stay here again. We camped at Water's Edge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Needed a stopover spot for the night. Funky registration system - register via direct phone at entrance station. Used a non-serviced site, very spacious, quite level. Central washroom/shower building, very clean, complete with laundry facilities. Free WiFi at park office. Dump station on site. We camped at Whycocomagh Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Pippy Park Campgrounds and Trailer Park, St John's, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with nice sites in St. Johns. Pricey but you pay for the convenient location. With fuel at $1.25/litre, staying at one of the distant CG's which cost less is quickly eroded with the commute. Washrooms were heavily used, not well cleaned. Municipal park, staff appears to be high school/college kids on summer break. Supervision seemed minimal, but after dark the park was patrolled regularly by uniformed "rangers" in trucks, not the kids in the golf carts. Felt secure, despite signs telling you to lock valuables in your vehicle. 2 dump stations. Wi-Fi available near entrance station or "loop 4" only. Good cell service. Would likely use it again if in the area, just wish it cost less and washrooms were cleaner... We camped at Pippy Park Campgrounds and Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Chance Cove Provincial Park, Chance Cove, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2015
Overall Rating:

Provincial park that is not maintained apparently. Rough/sharp gravel 6 km access road - do NOT take a large unit in here! Surprised to find multiple seasonal (or longer) 5th wheels/trailers in the parking area - likely crowded on weekends (we were there mid-week). Free to use, but high chance of tire damage getting in or out. Few nice tent sites on the knoll overlooking the harbor. There is an outhouse, but did not investigate. Easier places to boondock than here! That said, the area was clean, and there are trash cans that do appear to be emptied fairly regularly, none were full. No actual sites, just a gravel parking lot. No cell service at all at the "camping" area. We camped at Chance Cove Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Argentia Sunset Park, Argentia, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Open gravel pads - some pull-through, some back-in. Very convenient to Nova Scotia ferry terminal in Placentia (can see the ferry from the CG). Exceptionally clean restrooms/showers. Free use of washer/dryer (only 1 of each, $ donations accepted). 20 amp power on back-ins. Cash only! No Wi-Fi in park, but good free Wi-Fi at Visitors Center 2 min away. Sites filled about 3/4 full by Friday afternoon. Would certainly stay there again. We camped at Argentia Sunset Park in a Motorhome.

Country Inn Motel & RV Park, Gander, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park/motel under new owners as of May - very helpful people! Actually have good, drinkable well water (not common in Newfoundland) and good Internet at most sites. Washrooms a bit dated but very clean and functional. Good warm showers! Large open area for big rigs - we had a watr/electric back-in with good screening from neighbors. Would recommend this to other travelers. We camped at Country Inn Motel & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Viking RV Park, Quirpon, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Attracted by the PPA rate -small, open park. Washrooms were small, separate, unheated at far corner - quite basic. Water is straight from a pond - not suitable for drinking, etc. Hesitant to shower with it, since pond was right next to the road. Nice people - saw a moose on a morning walk with the pup. Dump station on site. Owners doing a nice job sprucing up the park - fresh paint, etc. good WiFi but NO cell coverage. Payphone in the laundry room though. We camped at Viking RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

New owner/operator since April. All sites open/gravel. Area was very windy! Exceptionally clean washrooms/showers/overall park. Previous owner retired, now staying on-site! New owners very helpful/responsive. Installing new Wi-Fi equipment during our stay - should be available thru the park soon. Clean laundry room. Good value for the money. Would certainly stay there again! We camped at Blue Fin Trailer and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park, Charleston, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Many seasonal campers, but sites were neat. Wanted Wi-Fi, so got a small, tight site near the office. Wi-Fi is satellite-based, weak signal, somewhat intermittent. Nice owner/operator, but hard to find, not often in the office. Laundry is on honor system (nice), 1 washer, 1 dryer. Limited store on-site. Would likely look for somewhere else to stay in the future. We camped at Cabot Hi-Way RV Trailer Park in a Motorhome.

Dry camped to catch the Labrador ferry in the morning. Spotless showers. Potable water. Good Wi-Fi hotspot only if you are near the office. Dump station. Fenced in gravel lot, but well suited for its purpose. Walking distance to ferry dock. Gas bar/convenience store across street. We camped at St. Barbe RV Park in a Motorhome.
