Punta Gorda RV Resort, Punta Gorda, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Called ahead and asked about accommodations for our 40 foot RV. Told we could be accommodated. We drove there and were greeted less than kindly. The woman at the counter looked out the window at our coach maybe not realizing I was already at the desk and said "So this is it huh?!" I waited a while before she came around to ask what I needed. She then proceeded to tell me they couldn't put us on this park. I asked why they didn't tell me this when I called. She didn't have a good answer. There was inadequate space to turn around once we had pulled in. This should NOT be listed as an overnight accommodation in any of the RV listings!! We camped at Punta Gorda RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Charles Mill Lake Park and Campgrounds, Mansfield, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the Main Camp which was very clean and spacious. The campsites were mostly seasonal, but they were well maintained. We really enjoyed the Main Camp and found it to be peaceful and quiet. The roads are easy to traverse and the site was level. We had 30 amp service but no other hookups, but for $20.00 a night it was fine.

The campsites down the road at Eagle Point, which is still part of this campground, were another story all together. There were a lot of older campers packed closely and most of the lots were not well maintained. There were many children and it was louder with more activity. We camped at Charles Mill Lake Park and Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tree Haven Campground, Westerville, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We had reservations and arrived in the evening after the office had closed, but an escort met us at the entry gate and took us to our site. The pull through site was large enough for our 40' rig and tow vehicle, and was fairly level when we pulled in. It was mostly grass though, so we were not level by morning. The park could use an upgrade as there were a lot of sites with tall grass and weeds. Many of the seasonal sites were pretty old and not kept well while others were very nice. There is plenty of shade and mature trees. I think the park owner relies on volunteer campers to help maintain it, but there is potential here to make this an outstanding campground. It was very quiet and peaceful which is what we were looking for. The people were extremely friendly and accommodating. We don't usually come this direction, but I would stay here again if we are back in the area. We camped at Tree Haven Campground in a Motorhome.

Panther Creek State Park, Morristown, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful little park nestled in the Smoky Mountain region. The sites were small, but not on top of one another. They were shaded and fairly level. This was one of the quietest parks I have stayed at and every site was full. The people there were friendly and respectful. We camped at Panther Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Sandusky / Bayshore KOA , Sandusky, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $63.00
Overall Rating:

The back half of the campground was underwater. We were put in a site that had several inches of standing water right below our RV door. We were moved into a drier site after discussing this with management, but the sites are so close that the slide out was inches from the picnic table of the site next to us. The cable was not working, but the Wi-Fi worked. Definitely not worth the price. There is also a train very close the campground that goes by frequently. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

Delaware State Park, Delaware, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here with friends many times and always enjoy it. The sites weren't mowed when we got there this time, but I saw the mowers in another area and asked them to mow our sites so we could set up and they came right over. The sites are level and the 50 amp service was great. It rained a lot in the few days we were here, but the site had enough slope that it didn't flood us out. The store hours were hit and miss so we couldn't get firewood when we needed it. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Motorhome.

Walnut Grove Campground, Tiffin, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is really a seasonal campground rather than an overnight stop. We are not opposed to this, but this place seemed to be one big party, and we did not feel comfortable here. The drive throughout the park was almost too narrow to navigate with a big rig. The pull-through site was sloped and had no gravel or pavement. There was no fire ring or even a picnic table. We camped at Walnut Grove Campground in a Motorhome.

Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA, Perrysburg, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA needs some attention as do many others that we have stayed at recently. The roads throughout the campground were nothing but mud. The campsites were so swampy that we couldn't be outside because of the mosquitos. Our site was not level and the sewer ran uphill. The electric was at the opposite end of the RV which required us to get an extension cord in order to reach it. The staff were not overly friendly nor inviting, which always surprises me. Why wouldn't they want to make someone feel welcome so that person would tell others about their positive experience? Instead I have to share that I would never come back here nor do I recommend it to others. We camped at Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA in a Motorhome.
