St. Albert Kinsmen RV Park, St. Albert, Alberta

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, paved roads and gravel sites although if you have a heavy motorhome make sure you ask, so you don't get a "soft" site!! This park is on an old dump site and they have had problems of sinking gravel, even my 18,000 pound 5th wheel made tracks in the gravel. Staff very friendly. Water pressure good, wifi one of the best we've had in over a 100 parks! One thing I've never seen, at the power hookup they have a 50 amp plug but they have strapped to the pole a 30 amp cord converter, what a great thought!! Definitely would recommend and would stay here again. We camped at St. Albert Kinsmen RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots of good walking trails along the Sturgeon River. On Saturdays, through most of the months of summer, there is a huge farmers market, make sure you take this in, well worth it!.

Gas City Campground, Medicine Hat, Alberta

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicer parks in Canada, our pad had lots of room, nice gravel with patio area. WE had site 44 with 50 amp, very easy to get my 41` 5th wheel in and out. It was good to see our 50amp had the breaker right there; so many parks in Canada have remote breakers. If your 30 amp breaker blows? and you cant get an emergency number or contact someone until 9am the next morning? and your 120volt fridge stops working for 9 hours??? anyways nice to see the breaker at the rv spot! Lots of room for my 3 slides. Wifi was one of the best I`ve seen in over 100 parks I`ve been in. Highly recommend this for anyone coming through. We camped at Gas City Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kings Acres Campground, Regina, Saskatchewan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

If you need a stopover for one night? This park is right beside #1 so convenient in and out. BUT its a dust bowl, many worker units, of about 30 units in the park, there were about 3-4 over nighters, rest were workers or "full timers". Very dumpy buildings/check in office. When we got to our site the 30 amp kicked with only one ac unit on, unacceptable! When I looked at my 30 amp adapter it had heated up on one of the contacts. They moved me to another site with 50 amp and worked ok. If we had to stay again as a stop over only, I would. We camped at Kings Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Town & Country Campground (formerly Traveller's RV Resort), Winnipeg, Manitoba

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

If you are travelling through and need a place for one night? its handy since its right on the #1. Dusty dirt roads, grass long in many places, water pressure not great, roads are tight but we still managed with our 41` 5th wheel. At the fun park next door it seems they have music and dancing on the weekends in the summer; keep your ac on full blast otherwise the music will keep you awake. One of the dumpier parks. We camped at Town & Country Campground (formerly Traveller's RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very good value at this park. Host was very friendly. Were guided into our pull through spot. park has nice gravel roads and sites. All connections easy to get at. Water pressure decent. Chicago Northwest KOA, Union, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

The price does not reflect the value, its too high. $45 sb the cost. Road coming in is too tight for 2 rigs to pass, make sure there's nothing coming the other way going in or out. Sites are a bit too tight, we had to move a picnic table and fire pit to get out. Staff is very friendly. Water is a problem here, do NOT drink it! Apparently Illinois has this problem state wide. Wifi was very good, one of the better parks. Water pressure only around 40 PSI. Gravel roads and sites. I'd look elsewhere if I came through again. We camped at Chicago Northwest KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Eastpointe RV Resort, Grand Haven, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Having stayed in over a 100 different parks in North America? This is number 2 on the continent. The reason not number 1 is Outdoor Resort in Cathedral City is number 1 :)) This park is worth every penny of the $70 we paid. Easy to get to, easy to get in and out, very nice ambience on the water, pristine conditions as far as paved roads and sites, grass and cleanliness immaculate, very large sites. Just a great place to stay; we stayed for 5 nights and were not disappointed at all. Check in staff one of the most professional I've ever met as well. If you happen to get one of the waterfront sites, they trailer you in front ways; really cool idea as your patio is now facing the water!! We would definitely come back here again! We camped at Eastpointe RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sleepy Cedars Family Camping, Ottawa, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is one of the worst! 90% are old trailers for the most part with full timers. There is one area for transients and is very tight to get to. The price should be in the $25 range but unfortunately if you're visiting Ottawa theres not much else. You're better to stay further out and drive in. We only stayed here as it was close to the airport which we used to fly back home for one week before continuing our trip. And theres this one owner who has proclaimed himself to be the speed police! I am a very careful driver watching out for kids; I have 10 grand kids myself. When I'm driving in a park I usually do about 8-10 MPH. Well this guy decided to put up his own 5KPH sign (that's 3 MPH for you Americans) and if you're doing 1 over he'll come running up to your vehicle and start berating you in French!! Just warning you if you stay here. Do yourself a favor, just don't stay here! The other problem is the breaker for my site is in a locked panel. So yes the breaker kicked and I had to go to the office to fetch one of the staff! Ridiculous! Every pedestal must have its own disconnect; he explained that he didn't trust any renters to turn other breakers off! DUH! If you had put the shutoff at the plug you wouldn't have to worry about this. Its a ma and pa operation gone bad. We camped at Sleepy Cedars Family Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a good mix of full timers and transient spots. The owner is one of the nicer owners you'll meet. He guided us into our spot, which he does for every guest! Spots are mixed gravel and grass. We paid pittance or wifi and guess what? It doesn't work! Use your hotspot. We were nice and close to Quebec city, take in the old town. We parked downtown for $16 for the day. If you wan to save a couple dollars, drive to Levis, take the ferry across. Definitely will stay here again. We camped at Camping Transit in a Fifth Wheel.

Camping Municipal Du Rocher Panet, L'Islet, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The transient area is not the biggest, reserve in advance; most of the sites are long time Quebec residents but no big park models. The sites in this area are tight but the views are fantastic of the St Lawrence river. Wifi sucked (as about 99% of parks in North America!), connections are all good. Brush up on your French if you're from the USA or Western Canada! Not much preparation as we had to move 4 picnic tables out of the way to get into our spot. We camped at Camping Municipal Du Rocher Panet in a Fifth Wheel.

Camping Lido 2002, Saint-Antonin, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Looks like I'm the first to put a review as this park was not listed. First off its in Saint-Antonin Quebec. This is at best good for a one night stop on our way West. This is predominately a full timers park (no big park models just RV's). Roads are a little tight as I have a 40' 5th wheel. Wifi AGAIN was lousy. Seems so many parks offer "good" wifi but always cuts out after 15 minutes. At least give the option to pay a small fee to get "good" wifi! Water was around 50 pounds pressure. We camped at Camping Lido 2002 in a Fifth Wheel.

Elm River RV Park, Glenholme, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good one night stop. The park has grass sites and gravel roads. MAKE SURE YOU GET DIRECTIONS!! We used our Garmin RV GPS and it took us half an hour in the wrong direction!! Make sure you take exit 12 on highway 104, NOT 102!! Wifi is not existent, you can pay for it as an extra (why not just charge $2 more and have it included??) and warning: cel phone service is also non existent! Be prepared to be without your phone and ipad/tablet for the time you're here :). The one negative? I had called to book the park two weeks ago; when we showed up they had no record!! Most of the time I get email confirmations but they don't do this here. I did get the ladies name who I had booked it with and when I said the name the two gals said OH!! YES!! Anyways one lady came to our site an hour later and said they found the confirmation behind some other paperwork. Good thing the park was half empty! We camped at Elm River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Not much here; you can check out the "Tidal Bore" (the bay of fundy tide basically pushes water back up the river). Its not big, a small 6" "wave" going back up river. If you're into this? Go for it, we found it pretty unspectacular. Go ahead and do it and brag to your friends you saw a 3" Tidal Bore (just lie like hunters and fisherman!)

Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

One of the better RV parks in Canada. the owners are very friendly and have excellent service. We had no problem getting our 40' 5th wheel into our spot. They escort you to your spot and guide you in if you need help. Water pressure is good, connections are placed properly. Wifi was very good compared to 90% of parks in North America. We were in the area at the top of the park, lots of space between spots. Was here 2 years ago and highly recommend this location to explore the Cabot Trail and Sydney; do the trail one day, Sydney and Louisburg the other and that's enough for Cape Breton! Shubie Campground, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

This park is nice and close to Halifax. But, roads are really tight, I did manage to get my 41' 5th wheel but I needed to put my truck in 4 wheel drive; first time in 80 plus parks I've been in! And the services were on the wrong side of my coach so guess what; my sewer was running uphill? I couldn't open my awning all the way that's how close to the trailer was beside me! The other thing was I had called in 2 weeks prior and made the reservation; when I showed up she didn't have me down. My bad for not confirming by email (which I always do). The owner is very pleasant and made sure I had a full service site but this is basically a small family operation. Wifi was terrible; not sure again why RV parks in North America get better systems and charge us $5 more per night!! Oh and there was a picnic table, but on the wrong side of the trailer!! We camped at Shubie Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
