Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort, Coos Bay, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

First of all this park is in a premium location if you like the ocean, only a few hundred feet to the surf and pretty protected from the winds depending on the site. Second the park" Could Be " a Great park based on the location but it is in bad shape as far as maintenance or I should say lack of. The roads are worn out gravel that is dusty, the sites are dirt, and the grass if you can find any unkept. The grounds are full of noxious weeds and stickers, if you have a long hair dog, as we do, plan on a burr removal program every time you return from walking your pet. Even trying to stay on the gravel is to no use because the sites are full of them. Our site was dirt, and more dirt, and weeds and dust. We returned home today and the inside of our truck is filthy from walking in it and the RV floor ditto. I will say the restroom that we used was clean and kept that way by a staff person visiting several times a day so that was appreciated. The only maintenance of any kind we observed. The landscaping or what's left of it is terrible. We won't return, the park due to it's location is always full or near so I don't think there is much incentive for fixing it up. You also need to be aware of folks roaming thru in the night so lock up loose stuff especially near the beach path. We camped at Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Cove Palisades State Park (Deschutes Campground), Culver, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We love it here - quiet, clean and beautiful scenery. The park is kept in pristine condition by a group of volunteers and the rangers. The road into this campground is along a cliff skirting the river at the bottom of a gorge and a narrow one lane bridge across the river. It is accessible for large rigs - just requires care and slow travel. Dog area in campground is a very nice large grass fenced area. We camped at Cove Palisades State Park (Deschutes Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Awesome canyon and huge lake with marina and houseboats for rent on Billy Chinook lake with fishing and boating and launch ramps right near the campground. Madras is about 10 miles away for groceries at a Safeway and gas.

RV Resort Four Seasons, Walla Walla, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight on the way to another destination and it was a pleasant place to stay. Paved site with full hookup and although it's on a busy street the noise level at night was not bad. We would stay again if in the area. The day we stayed it was 91 degrees so we pretty much stayed inside. We camped at RV Resort Four Seasons in a Travel Trailer.

Kamiah / Clearwater River KOA, Kamiah, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 5 nights in a pull thru site. When we arrived our first impression was apprehension about pulling into the spot as it was tall weeds and MUD with standing water in old tire tracks. Space is long but narrow between large trees. We ventured in and once set up it was useable with the aid of camping rugs to cover the muddy spot. The dog run was unusable with 3 ft. high weeds and half flooded. The whole campground is in need of a lot of work and restoration. It's a very run down facility. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The diner is closed and not in operation for a while from the looks of it. The store consisted of a half dozen items on bare shelves. The worst part of our experience was the trees planted many years ago. They are very tall and a wind storm came thru late in the evening which caused them to shed branches falling from fifty feet. One missed our roof by inches and stuck in the ground next to the RV. If it had hit serious damage to our roof would have resulted. The whole campground was covered in fallen branches in the morning. We hooked up and moved at 10:30 pm in the dark to an open area to avoid any more close calls and in the morning cancelled our remaining two days. The price for the space based on our experience is way overpriced. We were in pullthru #51. The center area (which are back ins) is much better as it was dry and more grass around the spots. Our other negative is while there they decided to start mowing the place and we were pelted by a large flying rock from the riding mower coming between the spots and throwing debris everywhere. Would we stay here again? NO. We camped at Kamiah / Clearwater River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Kamiah has a nice small grocery that is well stocked with reasonable prices. Other than gas we used no other business. The town has a couple of restaurants and a small casino but we didn't use them. The area is pretty on the Clearwater river. The drive into town is very nice along the river but narrow winding road.

Elks Lodge #2733 , Atascadero, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here in the past and it was OK for 25 a night. The price has been raised to 35 and the park is rundown now, lack of care is evident in the neglected landscaping and weeds everywhere. If you have a dog, foxtails all over as well as noxious weeds. No paving, dusty and gravel at spots is weed infested. Very noisy as well. Serious lack of maintenance. At 25 a day it was not good, at 35 a poor value, unless you just need to park overnight to rest. Disappointed as most Elks lodges are well kept. Will not return. We camped at Elks Lodge #2733 in a Travel Trailer.

Port of Siuslaw Campground and Marina, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed over 4th of July for 3 days. This park does Nothing to maintain the place: dirt, gravel, weeds with stickers. The restrooms are pretty iffy at best,t due to local transients hanging around.

Location is good next to Oldtown, but for the price it's poor. We camped at Port of Siuslaw Campground and Marina in a Travel Trailer.

Port of Siuslaw Campground and Marina, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park has the potential of being a great one due to the location, but gravel, dust, dry grass and ugly storage sheds make the park less than spectacular. It's OK to stay in the treed section with hookups and is convenient to town via a short walk. The port spends zero dollars on this park and it shows. Could use some TLC. We camped at Port of Siuslaw Campground and Marina in a Travel Trailer.

Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park), Waldport, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice owners and very welcoming. Park is dated but well kept and in a very handy location for this section of the coast, about 3 miles off 101 and out of the coastal winds and fog. Very nice dog area for off leash, only it is not fenced. A dog friendly park for sure. All in all a very nice place to stay in this area, close to Waldport, Yachats, Newport. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this park. Beautiful water views and sunsets. We camped at Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.
