Ventura Beach RV Resort, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

$110 a night is way too much to pay for any park, right? PLUS $5 per night per dog. I dislike camping in CA. The park is GREAT, but come on....If you do not go for a premium site then you are up against the 101 freeway with noise and car exhaust fumes. The park is one of the nicest I have seen as far as the grounds, they are well maintained. Probably why it costs so much. There are grass sites and trees and room in between the sites. My husband has a cold or we probably would not have stayed here but for overnight. No cable but plenty of OTA stations. Wi-fi was fair to good most always. You can hear the train whistle but it was not too loud in our site. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Huntington By The Sea RV Resort, Huntington Beach, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

The park is AKA Waterfront RV Park and located just east of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). The beach in Huntington is large and lovely. This park is south of town and if you cross PCH you are at the beach. That's the good part. ALL of the exhaust fumes and noise end up in your camp spot. Not to mention the beach fires smoke. The sites are asphalt with a concrete pad. no table. Cable was bad but there are plenty of OTA stations. Pool Area and Game Room looked nice, we did not use them. Two very small dog areas that are in desperate need of attention. Gross. Wifi was poor to fair in our spot (139). I would not stay there again, the price was too much for the noise and stink. We camped at Huntington By The Sea RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Campland On The Bay, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $122.00
Overall Rating:

If you like crowds then this is the place for you. There are all kinds (based on the rates and seasons $45/$359) of site "types". We stayed in what they call "standard". It had full hookups but we were lucky that our electric cord could reach from the utility cab up past the nose of our 33ft RV. WTH? The electric hook up was at the front of the site and the sewer was at the back. We might have been in a "buddy" site, I say this because our door faced out to the neighbor's door, but we didn't know our neighbors and they were smoking cigars. We were packed in like sardines. So, they had a bout 12 people over at a time and we just stayed inside with our guests. Cozy. Our outside cabinets move with our slide and this is the ONLY time that has ever been a problem. Once we were in the site, there was NO way to open them. Our section was full of complete full on partiers. They have a noise curfew at 10:00 but they do not enforce it until 11:00 or so. People left food laying here and there, so watch your pets. Chicken wings, tacos, it was not tidy. They have employ a HUGE staff and they do the best they can to clean up after all the slobs. We camped at Campland On The Bay in a Motorhome.

Talladega Creekside Resort, Talladega, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

No shade, lots of grass/weeds, no tables. No WiFi or cable. Some digital over the air channels. DirecTV came in good. Sprint coverage poor. Good location to Speedway. Owner/manager has off leash dogs that run the place. She does not have voice control over them so take your chances that they do not conflict with your dogs. We camped at Talladega Creekside Resort in a Motorhome.

Rancho Sedona RV Park, Sedona, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

The park is well maintained and the rules are well stated and enforced. The blue herons have nests in the trees right now so it's noisy. But they are beautiful and it's a sight to see. We stayed in number 59 and 84. 59 is right under the nests, 84 is not. 59 has Wi-Fi, 84 hardly does. We camped at Rancho Sedona RV Park in a Motorhome.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Great park. Our site was number 10, near the office and laundry. Clean, neat, and well run. The staff and owners really care about the park and their guests. The dog parks are good, all dirt, so no stickers. yay! Cable was on the fritz in our site but our DirecTV works well here. We could not get any over the air channels. Nicely spaced sites, good WiFi, nice picnic tables. All gravel but well maintained and level. Laundry was large and the machines worked well. Beautiful views. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Motorhome.

North Shore Landing (Formerly Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA) , Greensboro, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

The park is large and has lots of nice features. It is "rustic" and in need of repair. The decks at each site are wonderful, but are falling apart. Need paint and replacing rotting boards. The rest of the park is in the same shape. The sites are all tiered on hillsides, makes them all have a unique view of the lake, lovely. We can hear the waves lapping at the shore from our site, nice. Many trees, so no satellite dish can operate in our site unless we put out the portable one. No cable, and we could not receive any over the air channels. No biggie, kind of nice. Both pools are closed for repairs, so you might ask when they are going to be functional. Our site is not what you call spacious as far as the pad, but it is not near to any other sites. The hookups were not easy because they end up being under the slide out. We camped at North Shore Landing (Formerly Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We stayed in camp for both days. The camp offers a boat ramp and there is dock fishing as an option.

The route in was odd. Our navigation had us take Stagecoach Road. It appeared to be the only way here from the 1-20. It was like a stagecoach road....beware. And there was a sign that says it floods. We are looking for another way out to the I-20.

Geronimo RV Resort, Destin, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

In my opinion, it's the best park in the area if you have dogs and want to go to the beach. Since dogs are not allowed on the beach, then at least you are near by and can check on them regularly. Another park is nearer to the beach, but has a limit if 22 or 23 feet max. in their park. Good hookup pedestal. Allowed pens outside for the dogs. Beware: nasty little dog in the office that ran out to attack my dog while I was standing outside waiting for my husband. We camped at Geronimo RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The sites were nice sized. You did not feel on top of your neighbor. Cable was good, Wi-Fi was weak. Had a picnic table.

Kamloops RV Park, Kamloops, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The park is not very big. It is mostly gravel in the sites but has a few nice sized grassy places to walk a dog. They have a big notice just before you enter "all dogs must be leashed" but as with all other parks we have been in, in Canada they do not enforce it.

We have had at least two power outages since we have been here. The last one appears to have taken out our Cable TV switch. We can still get cable, but it's grainy and with NO analog TV broadcast in Canada and I was unable to view my DirectTV in Canada because US service providers of DirectTV are legally prohibited from transmitting the DIRECTV signal outside the United States. So we are without video but can still get audio for weather, news, etc. So, beware of power outages, you could be at risk. This will most likely cost us a pretty sum to repair. Let me also mention we have super surge protectors on our coach and yet still.

The showers and bathrooms are nice and clean but the residents leave the door propped open. This morning I guess I found out why: it was so hot in there I could barely breathe. I showered and got right out and back to our RV to finish up my hygiene routine.

There are two washers and two dryers. The machines do not state on them, but I found out the washers are 35 minutes long, and the dryers are up to an hour. They take $2.00 (Loonies) each. I didn't have any Canadian money and the office would not let me charge the $16.00 I needed for the machines so I ended up giving them $20.00 USA so I lost money in the deal. Shame on me.

When we pulled in we were assigned site number 8 but when we put the jacks down the front tires were way up in the air. We tried several times pulling forward and back to get in a place in the site that where the wheels were not off the ground and we could not. The park reassigned us to site number 3 which is more level and not on the slope up row of the park. VERY close together.

The first day the Wi-Fi was almost non- existent. The park office said it had been that way for a few days. Today, however it is very strong and stable. Good thing I guess since we have no TV. :-) We camped at Kamloops RV Park in a Motorhome.

Turtle Rock RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Great site (48) backed up to the creek and had a permanent structure on one side. BTW, the neighbor does pet sitting.

It was gravel and grass and had a picnic table. they were well spaced but close.

There is a fog horn that goes off all the time in the distance. Great, close walk to the beach between sires 34 and 35. WiFi not so great. Sprint service was lousy too. Showers were great in that you have the whole room to yourself. Toilet, sink, shower and fan and heat lamp. We let our dog swim in the creek down towards the mouth of the ocean. The creek was filled with some sort of algae. I called Health Services and Fish and Game to confirm that it was not the dangerous kind. We were there only two days, We would go back and stay longer next time. We camped at Turtle Rock RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Coyote Rock RV Resort & Marina, Lincoln City, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

It is a gorgeous location but they got too greedy and crammed everyone up too close together. So you cannot really enjoy any of your own space. Lovely river and boat, fishing dock right behind our space( 22). the WiFi from our spot was impossible. They said we would have to walk down to the office if we wanted to connect. We were at the other end of the park. For some reason we lost the spot we were supposed to be in (12) when we made the reservation. There were many campfires, which surprised me because I thought there was a ban on burning because of the drought. the fishermen start very early in the morning and since our site (22) was backed up to the dock you were awakened by them talking and such before 6:00 AM. We camped at Coyote Rock RV Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.
