Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest KOAs we've ever stayed in. Typical RV parking but was very clean, neat, organized. Price reflects Cheyenne Frontier Days and was paid up front with no refunds/cancellations. It was about 1 hour to drive to Cheyenne and worked out very well for our visit. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The Views RV Park & Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely RV park with large spacious drive-thru sites on the lower loop. Owners and hosts were friendly and helpful. Great views. Price reflects monthly rate. The upper loop had some nice sites and views also, but were much more closely spaced. The WiFi was better in the upper loop. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bud's Place RV Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park is not a year old yet, so they are still working on the grounds. There are a lot of oil/gas/etc. workers living there, but still some large pull throughs for travelers. Very convenient if visiting Carlsbad, but simply a parking area, no views. We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Carlsbad Caverns is about an 1/2 hour south, be sure to catch the bat flight in the evening May-Sept. The Pecos River runs through town and there is a nice walking path along the river. There is also a dog park on the lower part of the river.

Branbury State Park, Brandon, Vermont

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great state park as long as you can be happy without hookups. There are several spots that work for large RVs in the open camping on the west. East side campground road is narrow and treed but great for smaller RVs/tents. Site 21 is creekside and very private and has been voted best campsite in VT. Clean beach for swimming, great hiking trails close by. Staff was excellent and helpful. Cell service was sketchy. We camped at Branbury State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Findley State Park, Wellington, Ohio

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice state park with lots of spaces, roads and trails to bike, hiking, swimming and kayaking/canoeing. They are working to improve some of the campsites. There was water at the park but not at your site. We did have 50 amp electricity. We had to look for a level site, but most would be okay. We camped at Findley State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hidden Valley Outfitters, Overnight RV Park, Lebanon, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice park on the Niangua River. It was typical RV park spaces with full hookups that were level and about 15 ft between RVs. It was early in the season so there were few campers, it would be very busy if full as there are a lot of sites. We camped at Hidden Valley Outfitters, Overnight RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Many people were catching trout while fly-fishing on the river. It would also have been a great place to kayak or float if the weather had been warmer.
