Tropical Palms Resort, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped just for one night while in the area. Pool was nice, though the roads to get to the full hook up area by the pond are very difficult to navigate in a large Motorhome. Very convenient to Old Towne and nearby shopping. We camped at Tropical Palms Resort in a Motorhome.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $167.00
Overall Rating:

Fort Wilderness still rates as one of our favorite campgrounds of all time. We had site 521, which was very difficult to back a 40 ft Motorhome into because it was on the bend in the road, I could not imagine trying to get a 5th wheel in. The campground was full and we arrived late afternoon so there wasn't anything else available. A little pricey and keeps getting higher, at some point it may not be worth it if it keeps climbing. We were there during the Christmas Holiday which is why it was so much, but normal rates have climbed significantly as well Still convenient for doing Disney and lots of amenities available. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $180.00
Overall Rating:

The staff at Blue Water Key is top notch. They go out of their way to help you. We were on site 74, which I would not rent again, needs to be updated. They can only fix and repair what the owners are willing to spend. I understand they had a hurricane a few months previous but most of the issues were not hurricane related, just long term neglect. Counter on bar rotted, trim missing, ceiling fan fell during our stay. I was also frustrated that the dock was damaged from the hurricane and was not fixed, we were only told upon arrival even though I called ahead of time and specifically asked about the condition of the site. This was supposed to be a gold site but they only charged us silver. Pictures on web site not up to date, furniture is different or not three, no sink, etc. The pool was very nice as were the grounds, the guys were constantly cleaning and working to keep the area looking nice. Would definitely go back, just would not rent site 74. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Petoskey RV Resort, Bay Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

This place was immaculate. Very nice pool, clubhouse was amazing. Movie theater, pool tables, games, all free of charge. Sites were nice with patio and nice space between each site. We had a back in site along the back, road noise was not an issue. Will definitely return. We camped at Petoskey RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Port Huron KOA, Kimball, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2010 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This place just keeps getting worse. To start with we were told our site was given away to someone else who had the same last name as us, so we had to be moved to another site, which was right by the store. This place has the rudest campers I have ever seen, our site was walked in by other campers all day and night. The workers there are a bunch of teenagers who are too busy playing pranks on one another so they don't bother enforcing rules. (They would saran wrap each other's cars, then leave all the garbage laying around and chase each other laughing about it). They now allow personal golf carts, which they have no rules regarding age of drivers (I did ask). There were teenagers driving carts day and night blowing horns, yelling, almost running people over, etc. Like I said, they have no rules on age limits of drivers for personal carts, only the ones they rent out themselves. They also advertised breakfast on Saturday morning, but didn't have it, I was told sometimes the caterers just don't show up. We camped at Port Huron KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The new owners have really been putting money back into this campground and it shows. They have upgraded the bathrooms and added gravel to the roads and sites(helps keep down the dust). The owners are also very hands on and always available. We camped at Emmett KOA in a Motorhome.

Mount Pleasant KOA, Mt. Pleasant, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground for an overnight stop. Very clean and the staff was nice. Some of the sites are very tight, but it worked well for an overnight. If you plan on arriving after hours make sure you call ahead and get the WiFi password, you will need it if you want to access the internet. We camped at Mount Pleasant KOA in a Motorhome.

Abilene KOA, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I would not stay here again, the place is very run down. We used it as an overnight stop over but really wish we would have kept driving. Playground is basically falling down, the bathrooms and showers were closed because of sewer problems. We were charged for our 3 year old even though web site says children under 6 are free. There are also stray cats running around that don't look very healthy. We camped at Abilene KOA in a Motorhome.

Gateway Park Campground, Hillsdale, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park has an older section and a newer one. The older section has shade but is not as level. The newer part is very open and there is little shade. You do get a cement slap to park on and a cement patio. The pool is very nice. Everyone at the campground was very nice including the owners, they are very nice people. The lake is across the street and you cannot swim at the beach. The playground was not exceptional as the website mentions, but it is adequate. We will stay again. We camped at Gateway Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake Huron Campground, Carsonville, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

I was very disappointed in this campground, it is simply not ready yet. Every site we were assigned we arrived to only to find someone already there. We were assigned 3 different sites before we finally found an open one. They said they were still working out the "glitches" with their computer system. Very few of the things they list on the web site are available yet, from talking with the staff it sounds like they will not be finished until later this summer. The staff was very nice. One day if they ever get this place finished it looks like it could be a nice park, but until then I would not go back. Also, the lakefront sites they mention do not really have access to the lake, they just overlook it. The lake is down a very steep hill with lots of brush and trees between the sites and the lake. The only reason I gave it a 3 is because the staff was very nice, they were trying. But at this point they are in way over their heads. We camped at Lake Huron Campground in a Motorhome.

Port Huron KOA, Kimball, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived to find the site was nothing but dirt and mud. All of the sites in the area were the same, no grass anywhere. If it rains within a month of your stay you will probably have a muddy site. We were not offered another site, only our money back. This place use to be nice, it appears to be heading down hill. We camped at Port Huron KOA in a Motorhome.

Tropical Palms Resort, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2006 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground overall. Nice alternative to Fort Wilderness since it was full. We were told we could have campfires when we registered, what we were not told was we would have to bring our own firepit, that was kind of disappointing. Also, the kiddie pool is not heated and was freezing, even though the temperature was in the 80's while we were there. The shuttle to Disney was nice, as was being close to Old Town. The WiFi only works near the pool and at the front desk. We camped at Tropical Palms Resort in a Motorhome.

Red Coconut RV Resort, Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2006 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground right on the Gulf. If you want to be on the Gulf this is the place to be, the beach is beautiful. They have 4 rows on the "ocean side" and the remainder of the campground is "parkside". Row 4 on the ocean side is right on the road and can be noisy at times. All of the sites are kind of small but we did not go there for a large sight, we went there for the beach. If you want a large site I would recommend you stay elsewhere. The WiFi did not work at our spot, the signal was too weak. There is also a trolley service that runs along Estero Blvd that you can take to go shopping and eat. They have people that will help you back in your site that are very helpful. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Riverview Campground & Canoe Livery, Sterling, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2006 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground, definitely will be back. Nice trails for walks and you will see deer and other wildlife. We stayed in the full hook up area which was quiet, however we could here the other area partying all night. We stayed over Labor Day and there lots of teenagers partying. There are also a lot of the seasonals zipping around on golf carts. Fellow campers and staff were extremely nice. We camped at Riverview Campground & Canoe Livery in a Motorhome.
