RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino, Corning, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with a lot of good qualities. Sites were large and level with good approaches. Utilities were good and even. Golf course was a nice touch for buffering around park for noise. Casino had great food and quality beer list. We camped at RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino in a Fifth Wheel.

Sun & Fun RV Park, Tulare, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Only stay one night while traveling north toward home. Very clean and well maintained. The young lady at the desk allowed me to walk over to the site she assigned us to see if our rig would fit and it did not. We were about ready to pull out when she came running out to tell us that there had been a cancellation so we stayed. Got a good pull thru at the far end of the park. Trees were a nice change for us after 3 months in the desert. The restrooms and showers were very clean and the pool refreshing. Cable had a great list of stations. The freeway noise was present but not abusive. We camped at Sun & Fun RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyon Gateway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Newer park north of Williams AZ right below a very large truck stop. Tight entrance drive if another rig approaching from other way. Roads and sites are large gravel. Park has some full timers on north end. Utilities worked well. Did not use cable or Wi-Fi. Incredible view to the north and east of valley and mountains. Staff was friendly and helpful. Each site is a double site end to end. Would stay again. We camped at Canyon Gateway RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Being outside of town helped kept the noise down, but freeway is still close enough to hear. Park has a nice little gift shop and small museum in the office. Sites are large enough to give you room to walk around. Did not find a dog run but park is very large. Utilities all worked great. Used our satellite not cable. There are some retro rebuilt trailers they use for hotel rooms that are excellent to see. We were on the east side facing east so our view was of the Camping World facility and their trailer storage. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park, Santa Rosa, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed only one night but would stay again if in the areaw. Large enough sites if a bit lumpy. We were on the end row and had a nice view of mountains in distance. Big enough park to get a good walk in with the dog. All utilities worked well with decent water taste. Cable was clear and Wi-Fi worked well until many more campers pulled in. Steep driveway when you first pull in, advise parking above and not having to rely on the parking brake. Did not use the pool but looked at it while going to the restaurant. Very good BBQ. Staff was helpful and friendly. We camped at Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Good park with good people in it. Most site were occupied by workers working on power lines in area. Site was large and utilities were very nice. Cable had a lot of stations and Wi-Fi was strong. Each site had a grass area and some small trees. Did not leave the park after arriving. In fact did not even unhook. Nice rec room with books, games, couches, tv and bbq area. We camped at Twin Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elks Lodge #71 (Elks Members Only), Dallas, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Parking lot with RV spots marked in paint. Back in with very large building behind. Does not block satellite. Good power and water. No sewer or dump. You are given a card that lets you into the patio area that includes the pool, showers and restrooms. There was something going on every night we were there. Lounge was open nightly until 10 or 11 pm. Quiet even thought main street was not far away but had buildings in between. There was a Fire Station across the street, but I didn't notice or care after retiring after 40 years of fire service. Location was close to every where we wanted in Dallas. Must be Elks Member to camp. We camped at Elks Lodge #71 (Elks Members Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Quail Crossing RV Park, Woodway, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed the night while it was storming. RAIN. Did not see much of the park except driving in, hooking up, walking (more like dragging because of thunder) the dog, unhooking and pulling out. It was quiet, except the lightning and thunder. Site was tight and wet. Some trees. Hook ups were easy to find and good. Did not set up satellite do to fear of being cooked by lightening while doing that job, so I used the available cable. Had Fox news so we were happy. We camped at Quail Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Alsatian Resort & Golf Club, Castroville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Wow. This is an amazing RV park. Huge sights that are tiered so you look over the next row and at a view of the golf course. Restaurant and lounge o sight with golf course and excellent pool. Work out area with a treadmill. Oh how I have missed mine. Found it by typing "RV parks" on Google map. Was willing to pay the $40.00 per night then I found on Passport America's new park section that it was listed. Pure accident. Very nice trails up to a small hill with a huge fenced pet area. Of the main highway so it is so quiet. We camped at Alsatian Resort & Golf Club in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here to visit San Antonio and it's sights but found that the nearby area of Castroville was equally interesting. Lots of history. Antique stores galore. Just had fun driving the back roads trying not to get lost and looking at ranches. Did spend a few days in San Antonio also.

Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Big combo RV and mobile home park. Huge sites that will handle any size rig and tows. Fairly quiet except for the many full timer dogs. Wide streets and open areas give a roomy feel that is nice compared to many RV parks cramped feeling. Good power and water. The sewer connection were at least in the ground and not a foot above. Did not use rest rooms but did spend a day doing wash. Small clean laundry building with cheap prices. The owner loves talk and I love to listen. Spend a couple hours drinking coffee with him. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Western Sky's RV Park, Vado, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This park is about 200 ft east of the freeway and even I had some trouble sleeping through the sounds of the exhaust brakes. It is dusty. There are a ton of full timers and we did not go near the restrooms. But because we have Passport America and got it at have price it wasn't horrible. Big park so there was a lot a room to walk the dog. Beware of ticks and stickers in the paws. Some trails to the north of park but was told to watch for snakes so did not take Mac there. Good power and water was decent for showers and cooking. Use satellite and cell phone for Wi-Fi so did not use. We camped at Western Sky's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Was going to stay in Las Cruces but the wife thought it would be quieter to the south. Yeah, right. Many things to see in area. Las Cruces has a number of nice breweries and museums. New Mexico State U is located there and it offers entertainment. White Sands National Monument I north east and well worth the visit,

Benson I-10 RV Park, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Not a bad park over all. Nice gentleman met us at office and checked us in. Seems to be a large number of full timers but that is found every where now a days. Al sites were kept clean and units maintained. We stay a few nights and saw the sights. Big open are to walk the dog. Make sure you watch for stickers in their fur. Signs say to go straight to and from the dog walk but I cheated and waked all over the park. Mac doesn't bark and we always pick up after him. Water pressure was good and it tasted great for high desert location. This park is near the freeway and railroad so if you have trouble sleeping use earplugs. It is LOUD. Nice views of the Mountains to the north. Restrooms and showers are clean and large. We camped at Benson I-10 RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elks Lodge #1608, Needles, California

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at many Elks lodges and this is by far one of the best. Set in a quiet residential area it is very pleasant. Some road noise. The lodge bar is open every day and the tenders are very amiable. Full hook ups. No cable or Wi-Fi but we have satellite and no limit data anyway. Bushy trees between sites give some privacy. Wonderful view north and east. Our first night was fish night dinner at the lodge and for $10 you got a lot of good food and company. Only time we used rest rooms was while visiting the lounge. None available when lodge is closed. We camped at Elks Lodge #1608 in a Fifth Wheel.

Not much going on in Needles itself. Town has no grocery stores but some restaurants. bout an hour drive to Lake Havasu and not to far south of Laughlin and Bullhead City where there is plenty of stores and sights. Colorado river offers many things to do.

Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park offers little in amenities but it makes up for that in quietness. Sitting south of town and away from highway and railroad noise this park is a dream. No sewer connection but the dump is well placed with good access. We were at the south west area so our satellite was not blocked by the many shade trees. The roads are paved but the sites are dirt and somewhat rough with some large rocks. But who cares. It is beautiful here. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at Hi-way Haven when ever we travel north or south between Tacoma and the rest of the world. The park is so clean and well maintained even though most of the park is full timers. Office staff are polite and cheerful. Off the main road so quiet and calm. 2 big dog runs, well priced propane and movies on the big screen on week ends. Good cable. Good Wi-Fi. The sites are just a tad bit tight but level. Every time we are here, at least 2 times a year, they are making improvements. We camped at Hi-Way Haven RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
