Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a beautiful setting, walks near the Marina and easy access to I-5 and all the San Diego attractions. However, the park is old and the spaces are close together: many dualies parked in the visitors slots because they won't fit in the assigned slot. Also, their business practices are suspect. When I wanted to stay a month, they tried to charge me for four weeks: $1800/month. That's twice my house payment and although it's California prices, it was unsatisfactory to me, so I opted out. Amenities, swimming pool, great staff attitude, adult activities and neat little grocery store add to the ambiance: but, I'll not return here. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Admiral Baker Field RV Park (Military FamCamp) , San Diego, California

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay for a while. It has FHU and a functioning wifi. The latter is a bit painful and requires a login every 24 hours or a credit card that's not used. It's close to San Diego fun. The spaces are a little bit close together, though not like a commercial counterpart, and the concrete sites are sufficient for your big rig. It's an open base with no gate and the golf course is right there beside you. Qualcomm stadium is within a mile, but I wouldn't walk it as the traffic is heavy and fast. The reservation IT system in Navygetaways is a pain in the back side; call on the phone and the person is very helpful. We camped at Admiral Baker Field RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

East Shore RV Park, San Dimas, California

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with a great view of the lake, the mountains and the airport. Bug smasher airplanes fly by at your altitude. Lots of trees and grass. Laundry is not free but is reasonable. Company store is well stocked and the welcome desk is adequately manned and friendly. There are lots of large sites and many (some quirky) full time stays. Security guards roam the property at all times, including County Sheriffs and private security--you have to wonder why? Internet works only minimally from the headquarters building--since internet is now a ubiquitous utility, we have to ponder why the park is not equipped? Cable TV functions and the entry through the city park is easy. We camped at East Shore RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bay Pines RV Home, Morro Bay, California

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty good place to stay. It's near to, but not within walking distance, of the ocean, state park and town. Management is friendly and helpful. The sites are extremely close together, frequently requiring somebody else's vehicle to be moved in order to wedge in a newcomer. There's approximately 20 vehicles parked outside on the road because they won't fit near the owner's rig. This place is mostly full time stays, probably 80 of the 110 slots will never move again. Rest rooms are clean and each site is groomed before your arrival. Laundry works well, but expensive ($2.25/load.) Overall monthly price wasn't bad. Pool/Spa stays open all year. We camped at Bay Pines RV Home in a Motorhome.

Olema Campground, Olema, California

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at an electric/water site. Camp was full on the weekend, deserted after noon on Sunday. Electricity was constant, water good. Used the dump station and it worked fine. Location was good for trips to the "city" and up and down the coast, which is very popular. Initially, we were put in a site that was not level, for a week long stay--but, it was easily remedied by the friendly staff. Internet login is complex, but works well, even during peak periods. We camped at Olema Campground in a Motorhome.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Really a nice RV park--lots of amenities--great location. Park is well cared for, but employee safety is not a priority. Neither is the wifi, which can only be categorized as fair-to-middlin' at best. Pet friendly, even to the point of dog doo in "our" rented yard. July 4 is a big deal in CDA, and the friendly staff turned out en masse to repel boarders and charge $5/head--offensive to my guests and confirms previous staff assessments. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Motorhome.
