San Diego Metro KOA, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here in a travel trailer, with 4 children under 10. We love this park! This was our second stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, the pool and playground was clean and the whole park is well kept. It's a great base camp to see all of San Diego. I love that they recycle and encourage campers to separate their trash. We will stay here again. We camped at San Diego Metro KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Liberty Harbor RV Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

Date of Stay: April, 2007 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Yes, its just a parking lot. But its 4 blocks from the PATH train into NYC and you can't find another park that close. Its not a destination park, its a base for visiting Manhattan and the surrounding area. The bathrooms and laundry were clean and well kept. The night club was closed for construction while we were there. We camped here with small children and would camp here again. We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Philadelphia / West Chester KOA, Coatesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2007 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The area does boast low bridges and tight one-lane bridges so watch road signs carefully. The campground itself is perched on a hill and the gravel road up to our site did make us nervous. The wi-fi was hit and miss. We had no water for a portion of the time, but it was corrected. The laundry and bathrooms were clean and well kept. The river was gorgeous and we had deer in the adjoining field in the morning. We camped here with small children. We camped at Philadelphia / West Chester KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We had a great time in this campground. The easy access to DC was great and the park staff was helpful and pleasant and gave us all the info we needed to take the metro into the city. It was very quiet when we were there and we only had a few neighbors in our section of the park. We camped here with small children, and we would camp here again. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Travel Trailer.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: March, 2007 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We used this as a base for Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. The office hours were really limited and that was a bit frustrating. There was also a lot of construction, it looks like they are pouring concrete slabs at most sites. That will really improve the park, as our gravel site was not level. The playground equipment was nice, and otherwise the park was clean and well kept. We camped here with small children, and would camp here again. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rincon Parkway Campground, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: January, 2007 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Dry camping at it's best! There are no amenities or facilities, but you can park here right on the beach. There are trains on the other side of the road during the night, but they did not bother us. We love coming here in the off season to watch the dolphins play in the surf! We camped at Rincon Parkway Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Faria Beach Campground, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: January, 2007 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We are a family with small children, pulling a 32 ft travel trailer. The campground is operated by the county of Ventura, and all sites are on a first come first served basis, there are NO reservations. Most sites are gravel. All of the sites are level. There are 15 sites with full hook ups. All of the amenities are in good working order, and the campground and facilities were clean and well maintained. The hosts (new hosts as of December 2006) are pleasant and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. There are train tracks nearby that carry freight a few times per night, but we were not bothered. This campground is as close to the beach as you can get without being in the water! The sites are very close together, and I suspect things can feel very cramped when the park is full to capacity. We were there in the off-season, and the campground was nowhere near full. Overall, for ocean front camping it does not get better than this! We camped at Faria Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

San Clemente State Beach, San Clemente, California

Date of Stay: January, 2007 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

The park was quiet, clean and the ranger staff was pleasant and helpful. Sites are paved with picnic tables and fire pits. The hook-ups and amenities are all in good condition. Most sites are level. Some sites have good shade, and the sites in the 60's have a distant ocean view (the campground is up on a bluff). We camped here with small children, and will camp here again. We camped at San Clemente State Beach in a Travel Trailer.
