Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort, Plymouth, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park with nice mature tree that provide the much needed shade and have adequate RV clearance. Where I have a problem is with the management. Using the Sun Resorts website, we reserved 2 sites for 4 days back in May . When we arrived the 2 sites were far apart. they spent some time looking at the schedule and the best they could do was move one of us to 3 spaces down and across the street. Then they told us that the bill was for the full amount. I asked about out $140 deposit that we made and they said there was no record of a deposit. We finally logged on to our bank account and took a snapshot showing the deposit payment. They then honored the deposit. We set up on our site and our friends set up three spaced down and across the street. During our entire stay there was no one in either site next to us. The transition to Sun Resorts has degraded the park in my opinion. Sun removed most of the signs and décor that suggested the "old west" character. I would also suggest the NO ONE use the Sun Resorts website. Call directly to the park for reservations. I agree that the park ratings seem higher than it should be given the conditions we found. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Convenient grocery store across the street. Lots of wineries in the immediate area and plenty of Gold Rush history in the area. It will be hot in the summer!

Red Trail Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

As stated before, this place needs work. Looks run down, but the power and wifi worked just fine. Sites are somewhat haphazard, Gravel and grass and a little uneven. Store needs cleaning. Overall an OK place. Not too many options around here. We camped at Red Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ely KOA, Ely, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Site was roomy. Surface is gravel. My only complaint would be that is was windy. This park is south of town on a rise which is windy. Easy to navigate around the park. We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Fallon RV Park, Fallon, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Right on the hiway west of town. Concrete pads. Has hiway noise . Needs some updating. The 50A power was not sufficient for our A/C. Site spacing was reasonable however most sites near us were empty. Some long term residents in the rear. We camped at Fallon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are close together. Had to disconnect from our 29ft fifth wheel to fit in the space. Registration is at the front desk of the casino. Has a store with fuel onsite as well as the casino. We camped at Carson Valley RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a one day drive from home and have stayed here often. Easy to get to, good price, and a nice clean park. Concrete pads are level and the utilities are positioned near the center of each site making them very convenient. Freeway noise is noticeable but not bothersome. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Redmond / Central Oregon KOA, Culver, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

One night stay while passing through. Site was gravel and level. Utilities were convenient. There were a lot of nice people in the park, which gave it a good "vibe". Sites have adequate room and it is quiet at night. Nice shade trees. They have an ice cream store open on the weekends. Would stay again. We camped at Redmond / Central Oregon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sprague Lake Resort, Sprague, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We picked this park due to its location, 300 miles from our last stop. When we arrived we were greeted by the host. She accompanied us to the area where we chose our site. There were no others in the area. We chose a nice spot with a view of the lake. It was hot outside so we kept the windows closed and turned on the A/C. Good thing since there were lots of mosquitos. Once the wind died down they were there in force. We were still swatting them inside the truck two days later. Site was lumpy, which made it a challenge to level. We had to park the truck some distance away. If all of the sites were full it would be very tight. As previous reviews stated, the extras are more (sewer, Wi-Fi, using a credit card). The park is located across the lake from the railroad. They run about 7-8 trains while we were sleeping. They sound like they are next door. I would choose somewhere else next time. We camped at Sprague Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Townsend / Canyon Ferry Lake KOA, Townsend, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

A one night stopover. Park has a lot of long term residents which appear to be only here on weekends. As such it was quiet on a Monday night. Pull-throughs were not quite long enough to leave the truck connected. Sites are extra wide, so there was no problem fitting the truck next to the fifth wheel. Would stay again. We camped at Townsend / Canyon Ferry Lake KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Saguaro RV Park, Jackpot, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good place for an overnight stay. The sites are pull-through and quite long. The check-in process is confusing. There are two sections to the park, one is near the highway, and one is behind the casino. The office is in the rear sections. We parked in the front section (spaces are not assigned) and called the phone number to find out how to check in. Found someone in a golf cart and gave him the information. We would stay again. We camped at Saguaro RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
