Clear Creek Campground, Jemez Springs, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a state campground reservable on Dry camping in the mountains between Cuba and Jemez Springs on HWY 126, this campground has a great group site that is difficult to reserve, and several individual sites that can be reserved in advance. Weekends are usually booked if not reserved several weeks/months in advance.

Surrounded by tall trees and a small creek that runs on the East side of the campground, this is a quiet and peaceful retreat from the hot New Mexico sun during the summer months. It is at over 8,000 feet so can be very cold in the off-season.

Vault toilets are kept clean and sites are level, although vary in size. Definitely no room for Class A or large 5th wheels, but perfect and spread out for TTs and popups.

We've stayed 10+ times at this campground and enjoy. We camped at Clear Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

San Gregorio lake is up the road and a 1 mile hike from the parking lot after a short drive. Beautiful area and supposedly good fishing. Jemez Springs is close by, as is Fenton lake.
