Campbell's Cove Campground and Cabins, Campbells Cove, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A comfortable, quaint campground with a great view of the Cove. Great for beach-walking. We had a water and electric site overlooking the water. Small, family-run operation. Great ice cream cones at the office. Despite their disparaging of their WIFI we found it very quick, perhaps because the campground was not very full. Dump station on the wrong side when leaving. We camped at Campbell's Cove Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Cornwall / Charlottetown KOA, Cornwall, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The campground has had several upgrades since we were last here- office area, laundry, washroom and beach access and signage. This time we had an electric and water site overlooking the water. Owner very committed and very personable. Washroom near our site was excellent, very roomy showers with lots of shelves, just redone it looks like. The owners have decorated many trees along the trail used for hayrides with stuffed animals, just for the kids. Did not use the pool but area around it looks new and it was popular on the warmest day. Campground is well off the road down a long path so no traffic noise at all and the view across the West River is great. We camped at Cornwall / Charlottetown KOA in a Motorhome.

Cymbria Campground, Cymbria, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Our fifth or sixth year of camping on PEI and our first time at Cymbria. The first impression of this park is that it has seen better days but it has lots of plusses. Good internet, very large sites, mini golf (the person who booked us in gave us two free passes) and efficient friendly check-in. Close to Cavendish, Rustico and the National Park. Our site, number 5, was 20-amp but very roomy and level. Front part of the campground has access to just one shower and toilet per sex but there is a larger one in the middle of the campground (which is shaped like a very long rectangle). They are old but are kept clean as is the heated pool. You climb a hill to get to the back area of the campground. Some nice-looking non-serviced sites are available. There is a nature trail at the top and what looks like an old washroom boarded up- perhaps this campground went further back in the past as there are picnic tables in the area but no numbered site signs. Interior roads in good shape. A jam session led by a local artist to be held on site one on Saturday night. Relaxing and quiet. We camped at Cymbria Campground in a Motorhome.

New Glasgow Highlands, New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights at this campground- we had a 3-way site near the road which was quite busy during the day but quiet at night. There is a mixture of RV, tent sites and cabins. The pool is salt water and very clean. The owner is very nice and they obviously take great care of the area. Min entrance is closed at ten but you can you the second one which leads to the office. The store is open until Labour Day. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Back again at Linkletter..everything from our previous review still stands..great location..staff who are second to none and clean facilities including a new washroom in the unserviced sites area..and for the first summer they have WIFI..apparently all the Provincial Parks on the Island except one now provide this service. Gravenhurst / Muskoka KOA, Gravenhurst, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at a site in amongst some seasonals. It was a large spot and quiet. Our grandkids loved it..pools, bikes for rent, playground. This is an older KOA and a bit rough around the edges but the staff are very friendly. Their is a nine hole par 3 golf course and boats for rent across the road both operated by the campground. Store has lots of stuff. Washrooms are tired but fairly clean. We camped at Gravenhurst / Muskoka KOA in a Motorhome.

Algonquin Provincial Park - Pog Lake Campground, Whitney, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We had camped in Algonquin Park several times before but this was our first stay at Pog Lake. We did not reserve in advance so had to take an unserviced site for our two-night stay but it was beautiful- spacious and surrounded by tall pines. The washrooms and showers got a workout on this weekend and they have the 'annoying' push button showers with no regulation of the heat. There are five showers and they were busy all the time. The interior roads are bumpy but an effort was being made to grade them while we were there. This is a popular spot for canoeing, kayaking etc. and our site was near the dam and the Rail Trail. This campground like the others on the highway 60 corridor does not have it's own dump station but one located close by. The unfortunate part was that it took us an hour to reach the disposal area, the lineup on a Saturday afternoon was about 30 vehicles. One of the two spots was out of order and it had not been fixed by Monday morning when we left. Apparently the same thing had happened the week before! We camped at Algonquin Provincial Park - Pog Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a mostly seasonal campground and we were assigned a site in the 'Bois' area, a small cul-de-sac with electric and water. quite private but there was a lot of road noise, that was about the only drawback. We had a pizza made on the premises and delivered to our site, a first for us and it was good! All activities were in French. The washrooms and showers were immaculate. The pool was popular but we did not try it. Free shuttle to the ferry to Quebec City. Lots to do here but it was a stopover for us. Higher priced than most of our other vacation stops but the staff were friendly and spoke English readily. We camped at Camping Transit in a Motorhome.

De la Republique Provincial Park Campground, Edmundston, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

There is nothing not to like about this park in the North part of the Province. We had a site with just electric but there was water available just inside and at different areas around the park. The sites are very private, surrounded by trees and greenery. The staff is very helpful. The washrooms are as clean as any we have found in our years of camping. There is a pool, trails, you can get Wifi at the store, and the walk by the Madawaska river is great for birding or just enjoying nature. We camped at De la Republique Provincial Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Jacques Cartier Provincial Park, Alberton, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is not at near the top in our opinion of Provincial Parks on the Island but nevertheless it is a good place to stay. We had a two-way site very close to the beach. Once again we found the staff great and there was a mix-up on our reservation but they were very apologetic and it was really no big deal. This is a great spot for birding, the beach gets better as you move further away from the supervised area. The campground edge is lined by large rocks to hopefully stop the erosion. The washrooms need an update for sure. The sites are mostly open but large enough for our motorhome (22 feet). We camped at Jacques Cartier Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Cabot Beach Provincial Park, Malpeque, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at a serviced site in the main area but there is also serviced and unserviced sites overlooking the cove. The beach was the highlight here a five minute or so walk. There are kids programs here every day and ice cream for sale. The washrooms near us had been upgraded since our last visit and since we were using a phone card we found one of the few working payphones left at this location. As at all the PEI Provincial Parks the staff here are friendly and helpful. There is no Wi-fi. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

The park is located on the north east tip of PEI right on the ocean, wonderful quiet beach, very friendly staff. Great ice cream available with unique names, yoga and Pilates offered twice a week, pot luck on Sunday evening. Cabins available. This is a small family run campground in a great location. Interior roads are good, volleyball field and large kids play area. We camped at Campbell's Cove Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Lord Selkirk Campground, Eldon, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Although I booked this park through Provincial Parks of PEI on line it is actually now a private campground called, officially, Belfast Highlands Green and Lord Selkirk Park. We were here during the Highland Games (no admission fee for campers) and it was very busy. We were in the lower area, 15 amp and water and not too level but right on Orwell Cove a globally recognized conservation area. Some noise at night from the unserviced area below us otherwise a nice stay. Wifi available at a few hotspots but best in the reception area that doubles for the nine hole golf course and the campgrounds. The washrooms though clean need updating. We camped at Lord Selkirk Campground in a Motorhome.

Cavendish Campground (Parks Canada), Prince Edward Island National Park, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Since we stayed here last year they have updated the washrooms- stainless steel sinks and cedar ceilings and trim- this was our major concern last year that the washrooms were in very poor shape and not well maintained. Our site was narrow but as we have no slideouts it was fine- we had 3-way service. We were near the entrance but just a few minutes to walk to the beach. Great spot. We camped at Cavendish Campground (Parks Canada) in a Motorhome.
