Cabot Beach Provincial Park, Malpeque, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is in Canadian dollars. The beautiful beach is the big draw here. We had site 9 at the end of a row. Lots of room, two-way. Close to washroom, laundry, phone (actually works). Dump station easy to access. Staff are very friendly and helpful. WIFI was excellent. A breeze here helped with the hot temperatures- heat warning in effect- very unusual. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearest place for provisions is Kensington, just a few minutes down the road. Take it slowly on interior roads they are not the best. Serviced sites are pretty close but large and tenting sites are enormous. Great views of the ocean, just a 5 min. walk from the site.

Seal Cove Campground, Murray Harbor North, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The last time we stayed at this campground- August 2013- the lady apologized in advance for the bugs, which were quite bad. This time, despite the sultry weather, they were not a problem. We had site I - a waterfront spot with a great view of the cove. You can see seals here if you take a walk down the beach and you can hear them from the campng area. Roads to the park are not the best but it is a beautiful, isolated place. Pool looked clean though we did not use. We camped at Seal Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Jacques Cartier Provincial Park, Alberton, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

With a new washroom in the main camping area like the one in the unserviced area this campground would rate a 9 or 10. The staff do the best they can with the current one but it badly needs upgrading. Great for beachwalking. All sites are close to water, all are roomy, a few are shaded. We had #45 at the end of a row, tons of room, 30 amp and great views. There was a fire ban due to heat warning. Wind off the water was very welcome. Beach is supervised by lifeguards. Staff are there 24hrs. as at all Provincial Parks on the island. On evening we saw a bald eagle eating a cormorant on the beach. Rate is in Canadian dollars and includes tax and senior discount. We camped at Jacques Cartier Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Camping Du Quai, Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Our one stop in Quebec on the way out to Prince Edward Island. Rate is in Canadian Dollars and includes tax. Our site was back-in on the perimeter near the road which leads to the ferry. Very quiet at night. Escorted to the site. Lots of seasonals, mostly around the back perimeter, all very well kept. Unisex washrooms take some getting used to! Interior roads are good. We camped at Camping Du Quai in a Motorhome.

Linkletter Provincial Park, Summerside, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Back for another stay at Linkletter. Price is in Canadian dollars and includes 10 percent discount and tax. Customer Service still second to none here and another change for this year in that they have upgraded the sites in the area we are in from 15 to 30 amp which is really good considering the warm and humid weather we are experiencing. Ideal base for seeing the Island and as always a very friendly and hospitable place to stay. We camped at Linkletter Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

A must see is 'Great Scot'- a new production in the brand new theatre seating 300 at the College of Piping. Eleanor's Dairy Bar on way to campground has great treats. Lots of good shopping on Grenville Street. Stop by the track on Sunday afternoons for harness racing.

Campbell's Cove Campground and Cabins, Campbells Cove, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A comfortable, quaint campground with a great view of the Cove. Great for beach-walking. We had a water and electric site overlooking the water. Small, family-run operation. Great ice cream cones at the office. Despite their disparaging of their WIFI we found it very quick, perhaps because the campground was not very full. Dump station on the wrong side when leaving. We camped at Campbell's Cove Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Cornwall / Charlottetown KOA, Cornwall, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The campground has had several upgrades since we were last here- office area, laundry, washroom and beach access and signage. This time we had an electric and water site overlooking the water. Owner very committed and very personable. Washroom near our site was excellent, very roomy showers with lots of shelves, just redone it looks like. The owners have decorated many trees along the trail used for hayrides with stuffed animals, just for the kids. Did not use the pool but area around it looks new and it was popular on the warmest day. Campground is well off the road down a long path so no traffic noise at all and the view across the West River is great. We camped at Cornwall / Charlottetown KOA in a Motorhome.

Cymbria Campground, Cymbria, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Our fifth or sixth year of camping on PEI and our first time at Cymbria. The first impression of this park is that it has seen better days but it has lots of plusses. Good internet, very large sites, mini golf (the person who booked us in gave us two free passes) and efficient friendly check-in. Close to Cavendish, Rustico and the National Park. Our site, number 5, was 20-amp but very roomy and level. Front part of the campground has access to just one shower and toilet per sex but there is a larger one in the middle of the campground (which is shaped like a very long rectangle). They are old but are kept clean as is the heated pool. You climb a hill to get to the back area of the campground. Some nice-looking non-serviced sites are available. There is a nature trail at the top and what looks like an old washroom boarded up- perhaps this campground went further back in the past as there are picnic tables in the area but no numbered site signs. Interior roads in good shape. A jam session led by a local artist to be held on site one on Saturday night. Relaxing and quiet. We camped at Cymbria Campground in a Motorhome.

New Glasgow Highlands, New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights at this campground- we had a 3-way site near the road which was quite busy during the day but quiet at night. There is a mixture of RV, tent sites and cabins. The pool is salt water and very clean. The owner is very nice and they obviously take great care of the area. Min entrance is closed at ten but you can you the second one which leads to the office. The store is open until Labour Day. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Gravenhurst / Muskoka KOA, Gravenhurst, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at a site in amongst some seasonals. It was a large spot and quiet. Our grandkids loved it..pools, bikes for rent, playground. This is an older KOA and a bit rough around the edges but the staff are very friendly. Their is a nine hole par 3 golf course and boats for rent across the road both operated by the campground. Store has lots of stuff. Washrooms are tired but fairly clean. We camped at Gravenhurst / Muskoka KOA in a Motorhome.

Algonquin Provincial Park - Pog Lake Campground, Whitney, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We had camped in Algonquin Park several times before but this was our first stay at Pog Lake. We did not reserve in advance so had to take an unserviced site for our two-night stay but it was beautiful- spacious and surrounded by tall pines. The washrooms and showers got a workout on this weekend and they have the 'annoying' push button showers with no regulation of the heat. There are five showers and they were busy all the time. The interior roads are bumpy but an effort was being made to grade them while we were there. This is a popular spot for canoeing, kayaking etc. and our site was near the dam and the Rail Trail. This campground like the others on the highway 60 corridor does not have it's own dump station but one located close by. The unfortunate part was that it took us an hour to reach the disposal area, the lineup on a Saturday afternoon was about 30 vehicles. One of the two spots was out of order and it had not been fixed by Monday morning when we left. Apparently the same thing had happened the week before! We camped at Algonquin Provincial Park - Pog Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a mostly seasonal campground and we were assigned a site in the 'Bois' area, a small cul-de-sac with electric and water. quite private but there was a lot of road noise, that was about the only drawback. We had a pizza made on the premises and delivered to our site, a first for us and it was good! All activities were in French. The washrooms and showers were immaculate. The pool was popular but we did not try it. Free shuttle to the ferry to Quebec City. Lots to do here but it was a stopover for us. Higher priced than most of our other vacation stops but the staff were friendly and spoke English readily. We camped at Camping Transit in a Motorhome.
