McPhee Reservoir/ Complex, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice, clean, spacious park. Some sites are close but we loved site 16E with a beautiful backyard view of the reservoir. This is 30 amp, no water hookups, but spigots to fill water cans. A few sites have full hookups. Bathrooms had flush toilets and were spotless! Camp hosts were very helpful, friendly, and seemed to want campers to enjoy the area, offering recommendations about the local area. We will definitely return. We camped at McPhee Reservoir/ Complex in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely visit Dolores, sweet little town with a welcome feel, river lark, and must visit Doloros River Brewery for great beer and pizza. Cortez Farmers market was good size and many vendors with fresh veggies. Reservoir was nice for paddleboarding, boating, kayaking. Close to Meda Verde National Park. Mancos is worth a trip, cute town for wandering!

Eagle Nest Lake State Park, Eagle Nest, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a boondocking campground. The CG has awesome views of the lake and 360 views of the mountains. Nice, quiet park, lake is mainly for fishing, no swimming as there is some algae in the water toxic to humans and pets. Park has 2 trails that skirt the lake and a very nice visitor center with local history. We would stay here again! We camped at Eagle Nest Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Near Angel Fire with lots of hiking, groceries, anything you might need. Unique local brewery, Comanche Creek Brewery nearby, where you can sample craft brews and visit with the locals.

Trinidad Lake State Park, Trinidad, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 3rd stay here, in Carpios Ridge, and in the past we have just loved this place and it still is a nice place. This particular time our site 7 was a super tight fit for what we put in our reservation as 40 feet, luckily my husband is an excellent driver/parker. Pros: facilities are clean, park well maintained, beautiful views. Cons: On top of the camping fee, we have to pay a day fee, so you can reserve a campsite but can't access until you pay the daily $7 fee, which made daily rate $32, for electric only, there are better deals out there. Additionally the check in person was mediocre for customer service. There are some full hook ups throughout, but sparse; perhaps a renovation to upgrade the sites is in order (but may not be in the budget). Been to other places where they are friendly and happy to see you and offer local info, etc. Still a good park, lots of trails and boat launch for water sports, but a bit disappointed this stay. We camped at Trinidad Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Airport Park COE, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park on Waco Lake, conveniently located close to downtown Waco and Magnolia Silos! Clean park and facilities, friendly staff. Sites are very spacious, not too close to your neighbor. A good stopping point for us from San Antonio area. We will be back. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Centennial RV Park and Campground, Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park was right off the highway, and just a gravel parking lot; HOWEVER, was a superb spot to stay for a few days. The staff was super friendly from reservation to checkout; awesome customer service. They take great care in the landscaping (grass on each site, cut regularly), and there were planted flowers everywhere, such a nice cozy place. The bathrooms were sparkling clean, even cleaner than I kept my bricks and sticks home! The laundry room was also sparkling. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Centennial RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to Ouray, a very charming town, and enjoyed their June outdoor music series (free)...so nice to see kids running and dogs all over the place. Montrose had anything you might need as far as groceries, gas. Ridgeway State Park was nearby and a perfect spot to swim or canoe, paddleboard, and had a local farmer's market on Fridays.

Long Ridge Campground, Hiawassee, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this place in GA mountains. Superb customer service, owners were very helpful, gave us local stuff to do based on our interests. Helped us into our site. Just know that park accepts big rigs does not mean big rig friendly. They have a couple big rig sites, but super tight. Also, sites are very close, 8-10 ft between. Again loved the customer service, just not a good spot for larger RVS. Location amazing! We camped at Long Ridge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA, Anderson, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived after the office was closed, but someone was still avail, so she drove us into our spot. Very spacious, pull through sites. Lots of places to walk, and explore. Stayed for one night, very pleasant. Roads were a little narrow and the mini golf needs some TLC. We camped at Anderson / Lake Hartwell KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
